 It is a question asked,
some and most do answer.
though the answers vary,
the question is what vexes all men,
one answer is A WOMAN;

To some men a woman is a great many things,
she may be a great conquest or distraction,
to some to bring them from the dark to the light,
so was she to him;

Katherine Howard,
a rose and flower of youthful beauty,
her virtue clouded and somewhat shrouded,
though her faults seemed hidden from him,
she brought Henry VIII a great much,
joy,passion,and renewal during a trying hour,
an hour of his time when his heart seemed jaded,
though the passion did not last long,
the love it is believed never left his heart,
though it may have abandoned hers;

She was the rose,
the rose without a thorn,
but behind and beyond the beauty of the flower,
lay the seduction and power,
to drive a man wild with torrid passion,
only in the end,
to see the rose,
cut from the stem,
to fall to the earth,
to die too soon,
to perhaps die an innocent,
an innocent victim of greedy ambition.
