Anita and Annabelle weren't the only girls to play Lady Jane Seymour. There were loads before them, and hopefully loads more after them.

I love Emilia's Jane that's how i imagine the real Jane to be like. Soft and gentle but she does try to stand up for her beliefs but is brutually put down. I also like how she interacts with her brothers. And her and Henry (Ray Winstone) are so sweet, he's like a big cuddly bear with her. She has a subtle prettiness which i imagine Jane to have had. My favourite non-Tudors Jane.

I also think that Emilia's version of Jane is the best non-Tudors portrayal. She has that sweet modesty about her and was very gentle and loving. You could see why Henry favoured her over the obsessive and jealous Anne. Their interaction was beautiful, probably the best chemistry between a Henry and Jane and you feel overprotective of her. I also like how they dealt with her dilema over the monastries and Princess Mary. Her death scene was truly heartbreaking, i don't think i've ever cried so much about a Tudor death so much as i did with this. Emilia is a stunning actress overall and she did Jane much credit.

I like her but she's a bit too self pitying. I also think the actress was too old for her. Jane may have been plain but she wasn't that old.

I can't get over the actress's looks. As the person above me said, Jane may have been plain but she could still ensnare Henry from his wife, and she may have been considered old for her time but she wasn't that old. I also don't like the route they went with her. She moped about too much. Whilst Jane may have had a conscience i don't think it ate her up that much. The actress was good but there were many better than her. I think it's more how the writers made the character rather than her abilities.

A bit of an ordinary actress but she did have some powerful scenes in the film which made me love her. Her birthing scene was a bit cringey though.

amore_angel

A bit of a bland story for her but Asher is certainly an inspiring actress and she took what she was given and did the best she could with it. I loved the duck blood scene, she was amazing. And her interaction with Henry was amazing, especially their private room scenes. Second best non Tudors Jane!

We don't get to see her act much since its a documentary but she was a wonderful Jane. She is probably the most likely looking Jane and i loved her powerful speeches, particularly "right trusty and well beloved....we be delivered and brought in childbed of a prince...."

Good for a documentary but we don't get to see her act that much really.

Comments:

Like her sweet portrayal but she wasn't very well developed, rightly so because the movie is not about her. I do love her dancing with Henry though. The actress is beautiful, she holds her own against Geneieve Bujold, but you can tell this was filmed in the 60s.

Good for a small character part. She was sweetness personified but it wasn't a 3D character so it was lacking in parts. She's a charming actress though.
