Sunday (fill in date, I don't know)

It's taken less time to adjust to being queen than I had thought. I have chances to make a difference, but I have to tread softly. I have to really stick to my motto. My Lord The King is extremely temperamental and I am not certain whether it is because of his leg wound or not --- I have done my best to make him comfortable, but he often waves me off or even hollers at me for no reason. I am trying to discern when to leave him alone, but I do want to be a comfort to him. I want to be a good wife. I feel I was born to this. It is kind of a miracle, how all of this has happened.

I must be extremely careful about how I keep my religious practices. Thankfully he has not confronted me or asked me to renounce them. I have brought Lady Rochford into court in an attempt to give her a sense of "family"; she most definitely has some problems and her life could easily take a bad direction if she is not given a wholesome environment where she is needed. She has already shown she is in sympathy with the reform and I had to do all I could not to answer back (I just clasped my cross and was quiet).

A new lady has come to court who I did not choose. SHe does not fit in with the other ladies and refuses to conform willingly to my standards of behavior. I do not want to seem ungrateful to the king, but I wish he would not meddle in my affairs of household. This lady (Missleton) could be a bad influence on my other ladies and court gossip has revealed that she has bedded more than a few men...I will write it here...she has slept with The King. It took all of my reserve to hold in my hurt and disappointment. I must overcome my revulsion, I must accept, accept accept if I am to survive and maintain my dignity. I absolutely cannot afford to react as Anne did. For now, I simply do not look at the woman, even if she is standing in front of me. The duplicity is exhausting.
