princess212	Queen Consort May 31 2012, 1:39 PM EDT What were the ceremonial roles of a Tudor Queen Consort and in particular Henry VIII's wives? I know it was rare that they had political power, I believe wives 1 and 2 had that, and maybe even Katherine Parr. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

One thing that would often happen as with the May day riots early in Henry's reign is that the Queen would beg the King for mercy. This was a staged performance because whilst the King may appear weak by offering mercy the Queen being female wouldn't be. Post reply Do you find this valuable?
