Elizabeth Woodville is one of my favorite figures in history!!!! I read THE WHITE ROSE by Jan Westcott in about 1983 and fell in love..... When I found that she figured in my family history,I was ecstatic. Her daughter, Elizabeth of York, being the mother of Henry VII , whose uncle, JASPER TUDOR, is my direct ancestor, makes me related to,if not descended from,to the Plantangenets. This buys me no higher status, but that is not the point of finding your roots, is it?? It's just actually having another clue to your roots. I do not feel like I am bragging, just stating the facts. Many of us have royals in our ancient background, sometimes, they may be considered 'skeletons', but they ARE our family . My childen are not really impressed, but my granddaughters thnk these facts are very romantic, as little girls are wont to be! They will always remember this. That's all I care about. One more little tidbit. One of Jasper Tudor's 2 wives was Catherine Woodville, sister to Elizabeth, consort to Edward IV. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Neat ! ! I am a Tudor desc through Jasper, who was married to Catherine Woodville, though his child was , of cousrs, not a legitimate by her. I believe they had no children, correct? As I have said before, Elizabeth is one of my favorite historical figures..\ I have a Plantangenet connection by Henry V through his wife,Cathterine of Valois who was Jasper's mother. However, I am researcing to see if I have also a Blood relationship. Maybe, maybe not. I would really enjoy communication with you outside of this forum. You decide Maybe wee could work together and find a connection between us. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

I am also related to the Tudors through the Plantagenet side, My 26th great grandfather was King John of England, I am direct descendent of his line, and Cousin to the tudor line through my 19th great grandfather Richard FitzAlan, 10th Earl of Arundel Fritzalan. All of this is through the Royal Buckner line, to Mary Fabin.

I would have to refer to my tree, but I have fond that our family are also part of the Plantangenet line. Several branches criss-cross (cousins marrying cousins, etc) It can be very confusing .. We chould check out eaach other's tree, because we are probably related LOL then we get on the International news and announce it , NOT !! The trail keeps bringing more and more surprises. That name Fitzalan sounds familiar. I will have to check My email is sram@insightbb.com, if you care to campare trees....

My line goes back to Don Rodriguo Diaz de Bivar, El Cid, el Compeador, 1042-1099 A. D. His desecndants travel through all the royal house of Europe, including Romania. We need to compare trees. Maybe I can help you trace back even more. This is just one branch that I am a direct des of;;however I am related to thousands of royalty and some that go back to 300 A.D . I'll bet your relatives do also. Remember , in those ancient day, only leaders or royalty were recorded. My email is srahm@insightbb.com

I actually did not know that, Some claim my family goes back to B.C Kings of Troy, and they also say Kings of Franks. Like you, I am related to a lot of royalty, but I also related to the women who was said to inspire Lady Marina from Robin Hood, and I'm related to those who might have inspired the tale Beowulf.

Exactly, I would love to see what these time eras where like, how they struggled to live through the changing enviorment, or how they survived the deadly plauge, and sweating feves, or being called a hertic.
