"Elizabeth Woodville is one of my favorite figures in history!!!! I read THE WHITE ROSE by Jan Westcott in about 1983 and fell in love..... When I found that she figured in my family history,I was ecstatic. Her daughter, Elizabeth of York, being the mother of Henry VII , whose uncle, JASPER TUDOR, is my direct ancestor, makes me related to,if not descended from,to the Plantangenets. This buys me no higher status, but that is not the point of finding your roots, is it?? It's just actually having another clue to your roots. I do not feel like I am bragging, just stating the facts. Many of us have royals in our ancient background, sometimes, they may be considered 'skeletons', but they ARE our family . My childen are not really impressed, but my granddaughters thnk these facts are very romantic, as little girls are wont to be! They will always remember this. That's all I care about.
One more little tidbit. One of Jasper Tudor's 2 wives was Catherine Woodville, sister to Elizabeth, consort to Edward IV."
