The SUN news is reporting : ‘Suicide bid’ by Tudors’ Jonathan Rhys MeyersCops help save TV star TROUBLED telly hunk Jonathan Rhys Meyers was taken to hospital by ambulance after a suspected suicide attempt. Hellraiser Meyers - Henry VIII in BBC series The Tudors - is believed to have downed pills at his £3million home. Paramedics answering a 999 call found him slumped on the floor. But they had to call police after he refused treatment at the scene for more than 30 minutes. A source said: "This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life." The 33-year-old - who has been battling a drink problem - was finally taken to a hospital near his home in Maida Vale, Central London, on Tuesday night. How awful. I hope he gets better and gets good counseling for his problems. It seems the very talented actors have worse emotional problems.

I keep typing out, and then deleting replies to this. Having lost a close friend, and a family member to suicide, as well as once considering suicide myself (a long time ago); it does strike close to home.I just hope no one jumps on their moral high horse and starts with the "selfish bastard" clap trap that gets trotted out whenever something like this happens (I'm remembering Kurt Cobain's and Richey Edwards's first suicide attempts right now). This nonsense is usually trotted out by people who've never experienced any kind of depressive/suicidal episode of their own. This level of depression is an illness. It is an illness like any other, and can be controlled, if not cured. For me, and members of my family, the old "noon-day demon" will keep on coming back. But, even when you're at your lowest, you have to remember how to step outside of yourself, and cling to the fact that even the darkest of hours do eventually pass. Nothing stays the same, and that goes for the bad times, too. I sincerely hope that JRM catches on to this little trick. It's small, but it's something. Also, for anyone who is at this dangerously low ebb, there is always help available. From Lifeline (in Northern Ireland), through to the indispensible Samaritans. There is always someone at the end of a phone line, willing to talk, and to listen. 9 out of 11 found this valuable. Do you? |

It is no secret to regular members of this wiki that I love and admire Jonathan. I was terribly upset to wake up to this news this morning.. I hope and pray that he gets all the help and advice that he needs to get him through thiis. As Elliemental has just stated this level of depression is an illness like any other. Lets hope that Jonathan can make a full recovery.

I read another report that said he was released from hospital yesterday and that he was asked if it was a suicide attempt and he said "no comment". Its no secret that the internet rumour mill has been swirling with all kinds of gossip particularly regarding his ex-girlfriend and her statements. She seems like a real "piece of work". I hope he gets the support he needs from his large family and friends. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

I would prefer to have people not discuss this, but I think I won't get through with this. But please remember, after all "the sun" is a very well known Gossip magazine and is full of rumours/gossip/lies and only 15% truth. Things may not have happened as they were said over there. After all they published an article on him being in a rehab clinic and shaking and what not, all ******** as was said by his brothers. 2 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |

Ps. I hope you will lock this thread very soon.Instead you could open a sent blessing thing or something and send him good energy and not discuss the matter itself so much and spread possible rumours that may harm him. 2 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

I don't see how locking a thread would ease the impact of the event. It would only serve to increase the stigma that surrounds the issues. The lives of celebrities is a matter of supreme indifference to myself, so I have no idea what's going on, nor have I the inclination to find out. So, if you mean lock the thread to cut out that BS, then yeah, you're probably right. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"The SUN news is reporting : ‘Suicide bid’ by Tudors’ Jonathan Rhys MeyersFirst, thank God his attempt failed. Second, I hope he is able to get help that addresses both his substance abuse issues "and" depression so that he never makes such an attempt again. Today is the anniversary of my mother's death. Thank God it is not the date of Jonathan's too. My best wishes to him! 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

I agree that the thread shouldn't be locked it should remain open and be a voice for those who love JRM!!! Also in the spirit of prayers and best wishes I found this quote by St.Patrick the patron saint of Ireland and it seemed to fit and is a part of my prayers and best wishes to Jonny!!!Before I was humiliated I was like a stone that lies in deep mud, and he who is mighty came and in his compassion raised me up and exalted me very high and placed me on the top of the wall. well a private life of an actor should never be discussed in my opinion, there's a certain barrier that shouldn't be overstepped. I can only put that close to your heart to think about it and will now throw in my last post on this matter to ease your troubled minds.it was no 'suicide attempt' it was "only" a relapse of his alcohol problems and he was hospitalized due to that on tuesday about 7:45p.m. and was released on wednesday morning. As said by his brother via Facebook. 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

For All of us to remeber: RULES FOR BEING HUMAN1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around. 2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid. 3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and error experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately "works". 4. A lesson is repeated until it is learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson. 5. Learning lessons does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive there are lessons to be learned. 6. "There" is no better than "here". When your "there" has become a "here" you will simply obtain another "there" that will, again, look better than "here". 7. Others are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself. 8. What you make of life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours. 9. Your answers lie inside you. The answers to life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen, trust. 10. As you get older, you will only get better.. Love,Melinda 2 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |

Agreed and well put Melinda!! And thanks for the info Your Majesty and while I agree that the personal business of actors or of any person should be to a degree private unless it is made public whether by them or by someone who is close to them. In short even though it was not a serious as thought I along with my fellow JRM fans are grateful for the info and send our best wishes.love, and prayers!

Everyday it is a battle of wills, but trust me my friends ,I will always win. And so will Jonny, he has the 'heart of a lion" . Let them all say what they will , his "demons",like mine, in the end will always loose. Jonny's a fighter, and he will get through this , one day at a time , every moment of the day.
