The question of a sequel to the Tudors is answered
Mar 26 2011, 9:46 AM EDT | Post edited: Mar 26 2011, 9:46 AM EDT
One of the most asked questions on the wiki has been, when or if there will be another series of The Tudors carrying on with Edward, Jane Grey, Mary and Elizabeth. Michael Hirst the creator and writer of the series was recently at the Mary Rose Museum and was asked this question and you can listen to his answer here :

Though we'd appreciate it if you listened to it too! :D

There will be a second part, in which Michael discusses why he wrote about the Tudors, and why he believes everyone's so obsessed with Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, coming up in the next week or so.

I do hope there is some sort of sequel. Even though it wouldn't technically be a sequel as it did really happen lol. Do you find this valuable?

Michael Hirst came to Hampton Court Palace at the end of March and talked about The Tudors he said then that he would not be making a sequel. Somebody else might at some stage though.

My questions are about presentacion of the serie:
Why Henry VIII in bed with Anne Boleyn, the suddenly changes the pinture and see two things , first pinture with cross, the second a glass of wine other cross and scene of scene : WHAT GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER NO MAN SHALL PUT ASUNDER

They already kind of did to be fair...

Check out 'The Virgin Queen'... It shows the end of Queen Mary, the introduction and life of the great 'Queen Elizabeth' right through to James I.

The Virgin Queen is one of my favourite TV programes and deserves allot of respect.

Music is awfully haunting too ala The Tudors!

I had hoped that the Stuarts would be next!

Charles II, the "Merry Monarch" of the Restoration period, ushered in a new reign of bawdy, licentious debauchery. He married Catherine of Braganza out of political necessity, while neglecting her for his high-maintenance, ambitious (and ruthless) mistress Barbara Palmer. He also bedded Louise de Keroualle, a shy, blushing French spy; Hortense Mancini, a notorious bisexual; Moll Davies and Nell Gwynn, competing stage actresses (the latter of whom became the beloved of the common people); the king's original mistress, Lucy Walter, who gave him a cherished bastard son; and countless others. ;)

I guess maybe Hirst and co. thought it was too redundant. :D

I never can seem to get enough on the Tudors, although I must admit, so much is out there. A sequel to the latest series would have been fun.

That sounds so interesting and there is a connection between the Plantagenets & the Tudors. Thanks for the info!
