I have recently purchased a DVD set of a BBC mini series from the 70's called "The Shadow of the Tower". It was mentioned in an older thread by Juliana-Angela, so I went looking for it. As it would happen, it was just released in Canada in January this year.

It is about the life of Henry VII from the time of his taking the English throne. I am only on the first disc, but I must say that I am quite impressed. It is good to see something on film about Henry VIII's father. The actor that plays Henry VII really resembles the portrait of Henry VII that we all know here. I think the story of the "first" Tudor monarch is well portrayed in this series. Hope some of you get an opportunity to check it out. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I hope that this is available in the U.K. . I would be very interested to see a series about Henry VII because I believe he does not get enough attention. He is the founder of The Tudor Dynasty. after all. I have noticed when people complain about the Tudors not going on past Henrty VIII they hardly ever protest that it did not start with Henry VII and yet he is as relevant as any monach in the Tudor period. Do you find this valuable?

Thanks for that information Aparadiso. I have the whole of this series on DVD. I thought it was very good I especially liked James Maxwell as King Henry VII - a fascinating portrayal. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
