Who Do You Think Sends the Letter? *Potential Spoilers*
Apr 17 2010, 7:18 PM EDT
Hey everyone!I've seen episodes 1 and 2 of the Tudors. I've also read the synopses and seen most of the available trailers... ...but so far I have no idea who I think sends the letter to Henry regarding Katherine Howard's adultery! Who do you think the show made it out to be? Or has anyone seen the episodes and can tell me? Thanks! :) Do you find this valuable? |

I'm going to plump for Edward Seymour on this one. He has fallen out with Katherine's cousin, Henry Howard so is out to bring the Howards' down. So I think it could just be him!Still such a pity they do not have Cranmer, anymore. Do you find this valuable? |

Personally I think it is Thomas Culpepper and well if any of us have and a great many have watch one of the newer behind the scenes clips he looked rather upset about something she said to Henry when she seem to be saying something opposite to him!!!

Oh, wow. I don't think I've seen that trailer! Can you link me? :) The question is why would he send a letter implying the queen's adultery when he could be executed for it? :S Do you find this valuable? |

I read in the synopsis that the letter stated that she had sexual relations with someone else and when he questioned and tortured he spilled the beans about Culpepper!!! I believe the trailer is in the video gallery but i can give you the link to watch it on showtime's website!!http://www.sho.com/site/video/brightcove/series/title.do?bcpid=14034154001&bclid=69139484001&bctid=77039711001 Do you find this valuable? |

I don't know his name but I think it will be the guy who Thomas Culpepper spoke to in the wine cellar about Katherine being a "little fire ball" and all that charming stuff :/ I just think he seems quite attracted to her himself. He got all defensive when they had the above conversation and it seemed to focus a bit on him watching her dance. If its not him I reckon it'd be Edward Seymour, only I don't think he will deliver the letter personally. Judging by the costume of the person shown in trailer its someone who has a similar job to Thomas Culpepper! Just have to wait and see. Should be revealed in the 3rd or 4th episode! I agree with your comment. I think Thomas wanted to proove he got a cookie from the cookie jar with no one noticing. Foolish on his part, but it could be the notion I had her and he wanted no one else to have her even her husband. Maybe he expected her to runaway with him, yet again foolish. Katherine did proove she was out for herself and knew who her sugar daddy was Henry.

Richard Rich or Wrigsley, Edward Seymour (in the show) helped put Kathryn on the throne, he wouldn't want to place a marker on his head with her downfall...think AoC-Cromwell.

Judging by this picture : http://tudorswiki.sho.com/photo/9575452/The+King%27s+MenI am thinking its going to be Bishop Stephen Gardiner in the series....it was Cranmer but he's not appearing this season. Do you find this valuable? |

Yes, it'd be great if it was Rich too, the man was such an odious viper and it hasn't really come through in the series. Gardiner is the figurehead of the Catholic faction at court, so I don't think it'll be him. Do you find this valuable? |

I might be crazy, but I swore I saw facial hair on the guy who was writing the letter. So, it will probably Edward Seymour or Richard Rich. However. I want to throw Charles Brandon's name in. In the last episode, he noticed that Katherine's eye was wandering, so he might have started an investigation. Did Henry really ever realize that Seymour and Brandon brought Katherine to court? I thought he just simply saw her next to Seymour and then asked who she was. I really don't think Seymour or Brandon ever benefited from the marriage after Cromwell's death. So, its likely that this connection was never really made. Do you find this valuable? |

"Hey everyone!I'm thinking it was either Edward Seymour, or ossibly one of the male members of Katherine's household who were telling Dereham to stop being familiar with the Queen. But, I'm not sure. It'll be interesting to see. Historically, it was Cranmer wasn't it? I miss him on the show. :( Do you find this valuable? |

They also posted at least on the showtime website yesterday the full scene of Catherine being stripped of her title of Queen and running down the halls to see Henry.

My guess is that the letter was written by Dereham. He thought that he would have all kinds of opportunities being in service to Katherine and it is not panning out the way he wanted. I think he wanted to continue a past relationship with her and he was rebuked. He has seen that Katherine is fond of Culpepper and he is jealous. If he can't have her, nobody will...so he plans a little "you'll get yours".

I think it may be one of the men of the Queens household that have been hearing Derham (sp) speak about and to the Queen with such familiarity and wanted to get the news to the King to save thimself. It seems that when Henry was in love all of his wives, relatives, friends, staff benefited, but when the wife did wrong (in Henrys eyes) the same people around her felt Henrys wrath.

I think it could be John Fell, who Dereham punched. This is actually true and not made up by Hirst. One for the "strange but true" page!http://tudorswiki.sho.com/page/Francis+Dereham Do you find this valuable? |
