Urian-Wolsey's Dog, then Anne's?
Mar 16 2010, 1:10 PM EDT
There is a comment above concerning the Dog Urian, and I find it very interesting that this strange name be given to two dogs that lived at the same time: Anne Boleyn's Dog and Wolsey's dog, that bit the pope's toe, angering him, when Wolsey went to Rome to present King Henry's "Great Matter"! Since Anne took a great liking to Bryan's dog, and adopted him, wouldn't it be very likely that Anne (with her sense of humour!) would demand to now own Wolsey's dog (Wolsey, of course, being Anne's enemy) that had bitten the pope (another nemesis) toe!?! I just really found that observation above interesting, questioning wheter Urian 1 and Urian 2 were the same dog, and I say, due to the time, the circumstance, and Anne's humour (and sway over Henry) it is likely that Wolsey's dog became hers. Any thoughts? Do you find this valuable?
