However in the bookRoyal Paramours by Dulcie M. Ashdown, it reads " Early in 1535 Anne produced a cousin of her own, Madge Shelton, whom she hoped would attract Henry, but would be so grateful to Anne for her advancement that she would do no harm, while at the same time keeping the King from more dangerous women. But Henry saw theough the ploy and sent Madge away. Sow was she his mistress or not? Also I`ve read that the person we think is Madge or Margaret was actually her sister Mary. there is some confusion as to the spelling in the 16th century. does anyone have any thoughts on this?
