My mother in law,,born in England, taught us that this Rythme is sung while holding the child on your ankle. The adult sits, crosses their leg and bounces the child on your ankle/foot while singing this Rhyme.
Both our children laughed with delight and it is their fondest memory of their Grandma.
Does any know where the term "****" horse comes from??
Diane
