"I would, random thought but isn't that book of Elizabeth's the one that Henry gave to Catherine of Aragon, because I thought Elizabeth had written "This book is mine Elizabeth the Queen", but maybe I'm wrong or it could be 2 diffrent books"Sorry don't know that one, could be though books were very precious in those days. Btw isn't Starkey's suit a nightmare bless him :-))) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Just a reminder that David Starkey's new series starts tomorrow (6 April) 9:00 on channel 4. Its a 4 parter looking at "what made the real Henry." Might be worth a look..."There are now Youtube clips (so those of us not lucky enough to catch the first episode can watch!) posted for the first episode of David Starkey's documentary "Henry VIII - Mind of a Tyrant", which is currently being broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK. Check here for local listings: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/henry-viii-the-mind-of-a-tyrant Two clips from Youtube highlight Henry's early childhood living with his mother and sisters and his induction into the Order of the Knights of the Bath. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R05Z2Z89aUw&feature=channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkP8tI7dJHg&feature=channel_page Do you find this valuable? |

The actress who plays Catherine has red-gold hair? Brilliant! At least they are starting off in the right direction. :)

"I think it can be attributed to his desire to attract attention. The guy may well know his Tudor history but he's like the Jerry Springer of historians IMO. He'll say anything to be sensational and attract attention. I don't care for those kinds of people and make it a policy of not promoting them by ignoring them completely."Of the Six Wives books that I have read,Starkey's is the most boring and he glosses over a lot. I have not been able to finish it. He also has an attitude of superiority toward other authors that grates on me. Do you find this valuable? |
