1. RE: The Tudors Beverages

"Lift your chalice and make a royal toast to the King! Add your favorite beverages and The Tudors -themed drink ideas right here!"This is usually a Christmas time drink but hot spiced wine is yummy any time of the year and very Tudor! There are so many different recipes and methods of making it, but I haven't had one I haven't liked so far and they're basically variations on the same thing and very easy to make. My family and I make it the Swedish way with raisins and nuts but you can add or subtract whatever you like. Basic Ingredients: * Red wine -- 1 (750-ml) bottle * Sugar or honey -- 3-5 tablespoons * Cinnamon sticks -- 2-4 * Cloves -- 4-6 * Cardamom pods -- 3-4 * Orange peel -- from 1 orange 1. Place all ingredients in a pot and slowly bring to a simmer over a low flame. Do not boil. Cover and let steep on a very low flame for about 15 minutes. 2. Strain, ladle into mugs and serve. http://www.whats4eats.com/beverages/mulled-wine-recipe 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"thanks! I have never tried this because usually the recipes seem complicated. But this one...even I couldn't screw it up. "There's also mixes you can get, but I prefer just boiling it from scratch. Both are relatively simple for the result but I like making it from scratch better. The mix isn't bad though, I got it from Ikea. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I think we all know what this beverage is more popularly referred to as, but I think in keeping with Season 3 it would be more appropriate to rename it a "Bloody Henry" Other ideas for name substitues are fine too! ;) Ingredients: 1.5 oz Smirnoff® vodka No.21 3 oz bloody mary mix 1 celery 1 pinch peppers 1 pinch salt Fill Glass with ice. Add Smirnoff No.21 Vodka and Bloody Mary mix. Stir well. Garnish with salt, pepper and celery stalk. http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink581.html 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
