Where do you think the best place would be for the Tudor Rose, on the body? I've been thinking about getting a tatttoo (it would be my first one) and I think the Tudor Rose would be a really great tattoo, not something dumb. Also, are getting tattoo's really that painful?

I can't advise on the painfulness, as I don't have any...though I plan to... All I know is that places where there's a lot of muscle hurt the least, whereas bonier areas are more painful. A Tudor rose is a great idea; maybe on the shoulder blade, or somewhere at the top of the breast, over your heart. I always think tattoos on the ankle look really nice, but they must hurt A LOT.

I have 2 tattoos and the one down my spine was HORRIFICLY PAINFUL!!! (But fun).... The one on my shoulder I did not feel at all. Also it is one area on your body that will shift the least as you gain and lose wieght. Thus, avoiding the stretching and deforming of you ink. Good luck and don't forget to post in on the Tudor Ink Page so we can all marvel at it.

Ankle would be good, and I didn't think it hurt very much. It's just kind of an irritating sensation when they color areas in, I had to keep myself from swatting him away. If you have short hair, back of the neck would be good. I've heard it hurts there, but it's not like it's going to be huge in that spot, and even the most painful of tat's aren't unbearable or anything.

But whatever the pain, it usually lasts as long as it's being done, as oppose to say, a piecing. Do you find this valuable? |

Thanks! I would like to get this tattoo before summer. By that time I'll have another job (this economy sucks!) and I'll have convinced my mom to let me have a tattoo. Already got my dad (he has two so he really can't say anything) and so far my mom is a hard nut to crack. Damn her morals! lol. Oh and I like the neck one (even though I do not like pain at all) and the shoulder blade one. My aunt has 2 tattoo's on her ankels, she advises no. But thanks again!

I have two tattoos and i've found that areas where there is more flesh hurt much less. For example, when I got the one on the back of my right hip it didn't hurt at all because the area has alot of fat. However, the tattoo of the Tudor rose that I got on a bony part of my mid-back hurt ALOT more. Good luck with it!

A lot probably depends on your threshold for pain. We all feel things differently. Do you find this valuable? |

Just don't get one where you can't cover it up! You don't want to ruin your chances on any job interviews. Anyway, that's my old-fashioned advice! :)

I think the back of the neck would be a great idea. Nothing big just small and pretty. I have two tattoo one on my stomach (does not look good when prego) and one on the back of my neck which didnt hurt that bad.
