Katherine and Anne.....With-a-Twist Game
Oct 6 2008, 10:16 PM EDT | Post edited: Oct 6 2008, 10:16 PM EDT
In playing many of the games and reading many of the posts, it has become clear that many of us have a favorite Queen ( I know, tell you something that you didn't already know...LOL) The most "heated" exchanges seem to come when Katherine and Anne are in the mix. So, the game that I propose to you all is in the spirit of a challenge.

The game would go as follows:
1. Identify your favorite of the two Queens.
2. This is where you will have to dig deep....say one GOOD thing about the Queen who is not your favorite.
3. You may have to go deeper....say one thing about your favorite that is NOT so good

The old addage " if you can't say something good about someone, don't say anything at all" will have to apply when posting about the Queen who is not your favorite. By the same token, this will not apply to your favorite. The idea of this game is to help show that neither was perfect and neither was totally evil. Use an open mind and try to have fun. So here goes:

Favorite: Katherine of Aragon
Anne Boleyn was more generous with her alms for the poor.
Katherine of Aragon blamed others for what was clearly Henry's fault.

I like this idea:)

Favorite: Anne Boleyn
Katherine's love for Henry can never be questioned.
Anne was very unkind to Mary.

Not so good: stubbornly refused to go on the offensive against Henry; her resistance was passive.
Anne Boleyn; not my favorite BUT her conscience was clear when she died; she was not guilty of adultery or incest.

Is it just out of KOA and AB?

Ok
Fave queen-Anne boleyn
COA-Strong in her faith until the very end, a loyal and beloved queen of the people
AB-Disliked by the people, should have waited until Katherine had died, her ambitions got the better of her too quickly

Absolutely, offwithherhead! No one is all good or all bad. Humanity isn't that way.
OK, between the 2 Queens, I would have to say Anne Boleyn is my favorite.
Catherine of Aragon was a loving wife and mother.
Anne Boleyn tended to say what was on her mind, but to a fault. Some things are better left unsaid, particularly true in Henry's realm!

Too funny funrod6! This can be hard for both the pro's and con's. Really appreciate all the efforts of the posters!

Favorite: Katherine of Aragon
Anne was strong in her desire to ensure Elizabeth's future.
Katherine (when she began to gain weight) started to distance herself from Henry's side.

Favourite:*Katherine of Aragon*
Anne Boleyn questioned Thomas Cromwell on where the money from the destruction of the monastries was going.
Katherine was too passive to Henry and should have tried to stand up to him regarding his terrible treatment to her.

Wow, you dug deep to bring this one back coronation!!! LOL.

Favorite: Katherine of Aragon
Anne was fashion forward.
Katherine became more matronly, in her dress, with age.
(sorry, but I used up my best ones before and as you can see, I was scraping the bottom of the barrel)

Favourite: I admire both of them in different ways (sorry - not gonna choose)
Good thing: they were both intelligent, strong women doing their best in a man's world
Bad thing: they were both proud & stubborn and because of a man, it was their downfall
