A Season 5 ?????
Since the series is called "The Tudors" and not "Henry VIII"....... There should be a season 5 which continues the Tudor bloodline and tells the history of how Edward, Mary and then Elizabeth became Tudor rulers. Elizabeth is considered to be the longest Tudor to hold the throne as well as the only female Tudor to do so. Isn't it coincidental that Elizabeth, the daughter of Anne Boelyn, ruled the longest and was most loved....

Season Five - Cancelled
I thought everybody would like to know that the planned (and cast) 16 episode season 5 of the Tudors has been cancelled.
The ostensible reason that has been given is the lack of available funds from main backer, the Canadian arm of Show Time and CBC.
The producers has already hired and payed script writers who has completed their task, as well as casting actors for most plots, sub-plots and extras.
The plan is to condense the planned main plots into the last four episodes of the soon-to-air season four. Everything else has been cut.

5 Seasons after all!
This is pretty exciting news......this is still in the works but it looks like they will be filming season 4 and 5 back to back and that JRM will be a part of it. Hopefully all being well they will start filming spring/summer 2009.
No details yet but as soon as we have some, we will let you know. However, this is an interesting subject to contemplate. Hirst had said in an interview that he would like to do a season 5 and mentioned Mary & Elizabeth but not Lady Jane Grey. So it will be fascinating to see what direction the series takes.
