Mary I's Pearl - now on sale
If you have a spare $2 - $3 million, La Peregrina, the pearl that Philip gave to his queen Mary I goes on sale.
Richard Burton paid $37,000 over 40 years ago and gave it to his "queen" Elizabeth Taylor who recently passed away. It will be interesting to see who manages to scoop this little treasure.

I absolutely love these pieces. Even in costume metals, and imitation stones they are gorgeous. I wish people wore jewels like this today. I was a retail jeweler in real life and I miss jewels so much. I have a huge amount of fresh water pearls from a necklace that broke. I can't restring them myself and to have it done would be more than the necklace costs. I would love to embroider them across a neckline of a dress, but I can't sew. Maybe in another lifetime I will wear jewels again

your jewelry
I saw the pieces you made. They are great. I have a feshwarwe pearl collar that broke, and to have it restrung would be a fortune. I am thinking of making strands that I can attach to a neckline like Anne wore at the coronation, but although I am a jeweler, I am not a craftsman. I want to be able to remove it to wear with other things. I must look up the proper findings for such a project. It's overwheming, but I need inspiration.

Hoods and so on
Why were the ladies of the court so often depicted without hoods? Often Anne and others would go about it little but a beaded headband or nothing at all on their heads.

Tudor Jewelry
I love the jewelry on the show. I found a good website that has nice 'Tudor" jewelry and it isn't that expensive. It is called Sage and Sapphire. There is another website Sorrelli.com but I thought that they were expensive. Take a look and tell me what you all think
