Margaret of Mary?
This profile is confusing. It is a mix of Margaret and Mary. I was reading this on Margaret Sheldon.
Kathryn M Brown, p 26, says she was called "Pretty Madge" and "Cousin Madge". She was an attendant at Court of Queen Anne Boleyn and was commanded by her to distract the attentions of Henry when he was making love to Jane Seymour. Madge is said to have been Henry VIII’s mistress for about six months. At the time of Anne’s arrest, Madge was engaged to Henry Norris, a widower, and being courted by Francis Weston, who was already married. Both men were arrested and executed in connection with Anne’s alleged adultery. 19 May 1536, Some accounts say Madge attended Queen Anne Boleyn on the scaffold.

Madge Shelton
I have read two conflicting opinions of whenther Marge Shelton was actually Henry`s mistress or not. In The Six wives of Henry VIII by alison Weir "Anne persuaded Madge Shelton; her cousin toencourage Henry`s advances. In no time at all Madge was in the King`s bed." However in the bookRoyal Paramours by Dulcie M. Ashdown, it reads " Early in 1535 Anne produced a cousin of her own, Madge Shelton, whom she hoped would attract Henry, but would be so grateful to Anne for her advancement that she would do no harm, while at the same time keeping the King from more dangerous women. But Henry saw theough the ploy and sent Madge away. Sow was she his mistress or not? Also I`ve read that the person we think is Madge or Margaret was actually her sister Mary. there is some confusion as to the spelling in the 16th century. does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thank you for your input.

Madge
Do you think she was intentionally trying to get Anne into trouble. I mean she had the motives, having both of her Henry's taken off her by Anne so obviously she wasn't happy with that and she was quite jealous of her. Do you think it was her who started the rumours that Anne had men in her rooms at night? And do you think she was bullied into giving the names of the so called lovers, or secretly she wanted to. After all, she could have kept her thoughts about the incest between Anne and George to herself since that was far worse than just plain adultery. She also seemed quite determined to help Jane, giving Anne dirties and returning the locket back to Jane after Anne threw it away. A sign that she was no longer on Anne's side anymore and was trying to assist Jane knowing she might be the future Queen? What does everyone think? And what happened to Madge, both in the series and in real life?
