tudor jewelry
I absolutely love these pieces. Even in costume metals, and imitation stones they are gorgeous. I wish people wore jewels like this today. I was a retail jeweler in real life and I miss jewels so much. I have a huge amount of fresh water pearls from a necklace that broke. I can't restring them myself and to have it done would be more than the necklace costs. I would love to embroider them across a neckline of a dress, but I can't sew. Maybe in another lifetime I will wear jewels again

Which Jane did you like best Anita Briem or Annabelle Wallis
Which of the 2 Queen Jane's did you like best was it season 2 Jane, Anita Briem or season 3 Jane, Annabelle Wallis. I personly think that i liked Annabelle as Jane espicially in seaon 4 better than Anita, but AB's Jane seemed more interesting than AW's. I must say that i wish they kept just 1 actress for the role of Jane and than we would'nt have 2 different types of Jane, 1 that seemed interesting and 1 that seemed like a saint. I luv Annabelle but i wish they did'nt make her Jane a saint because of that we did'nt see Annabelle show her fall potential. Please say what you think?

Any other websites.
I'm a bit of a costume junkie, so I'm looking for some websites with pictures + imformation on costumes used in The Tudors and other productions.
I already know of The Costumers Guide to Movie Costumes and Recycled Movie Costumes, but I was wondering if there's any other websites? Thanks in advance.

S4 HAS THE BEST COSTUMES!
Am i the only person reli impressed with the brillaint costumes for this season.
i liked the jane seymour teal dress from last year but the top of the sleeves were garish and i hate the style. The only complain i do have is about Jane Boleyn in a gold dress??? WHY???? Sheshould be in gowns similar to other maids

Designers Challenge not an easy task
With a show this scale she did a good job. It is no easy task to sew for such a large cast and extras on set.
Some of the garments aren't exactly what I would create, for a Tudor costume drama, but they are interesing to look at. I would have been happier to see less tiaras and more Tudor hoods and such, that's it for my critique. I did get the thrill of seeing what type of hat or gown would the characters wear next, some of them are very fantastically fashioned. The Tudors in history did have an ostentatiousness about their dress than made them interesing. I think that is what the designer did try to portray with each Queen was personality and she did that through, color, texture and tailoring of the gowns. Plus Henry and his courtiers she did the same effect for attitude with dress, it did work for the screen I think.

your jewelry
I saw the pieces you made. They are great. I have a feshwarwe pearl collar that broke, and to have it restrung would be a fortune. I am thinking of making strands that I can attach to a neckline like Anne wore at the coronation, but although I am a jeweler, I am not a craftsman. I want to be able to remove it to wear with other things. I must look up the proper findings for such a project. It's overwheming, but I need inspiration.

Lady Jane Douglas
I am reading a book now of Henry and Catherine Parr. It says that Stephen Gardiner who was the Bishop of Winchester had a plan to discredit Catherine Parr and make Lady Jane douglas the King`s 7th wife. This book was written in 1864 by L. Mohlbach of Germany but traslated from German by Rev. H.N. Pierce D. D. Has anyone heard of this ?
