Want to learn even more about The Tudors? Most of you know about "The Other Boleyn Girl", but here I have compiled a list of even more wonderful works of fiction based on the Tudors that I have read that you might enjoy!

  • "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Phillippa Gregory- I saw the movie before I read the book, and as with most books that have been made into feature films, the book was far more enjoyable to me at least. This novel delves into the life of Mary Boleyn, the sister of the ill-fated Queen Anne. Not a lot is known about Mary, but Phillippa gives a very intimate look into the life of Mary, based on what is known about her. Even though many liberties were taken, it is a work of fiction and a beautifully well-written one at that.
  • "The Boleyn Inheritance" by Phillippa Gregory- This book (also written by Phillippa Gregory), kept me captivated from the first to the last page. I have to say, in my opinion, this is one of my favorites. It follows the events after the death of Jane Seymour, the marriages to Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard to Henry VIII, through the eyes of the three central characters, Lady Jane Rochford, Anne of Cleves, and Katherine Howard. The portrayal in this book of Katherine Howard most closely resembles the one in the series, played by Tamzin Merchant. Except for the physical description, the mannerisms and temperament between both Katherines are the same.
  • "The Queen's Mistake: In the court of Henry VIII" by Diane Haeger-This book, I have to say, is my absolute favorite. It is a beautiful love story between Katherine Howard and Thomas Culpepper. In the series, Thomas seems to lust after Katherine rather than feel true love, but in this book, Katherine and Thomas both succumb to the forbidden, yet pure love they have for one another. I strongly recommend this book to any Tudor fan, but make sure to have tissues ready for the heart-wrenching final chapter.
