Adorable! Kate Duggan was such a cute Elizabeth and this was her best childhood dress.
Grace_B

A very sweet dress, she looks like a mini Anita Briem here. The soft, pale colours really suit her pale complexion and the green creates the illusion that she's wearing a bodice and it makes her look very grown up. I love the little overcoat and hat. She's so cute!
sixqueensofhenryviii

Is it just me or does the last three dresses on here look like Mary's dress when she was betrothed to Charles?
~Olympe of France

Yes it's the exact same dress.
~ Boudica

Aww the colour goes lovely with her pretty blonde hair. She looks so adorable in buttermilk. I'm not keen on the dull coloured bodice though, it would have been nice all one colour. It works better with the gold though especially with the matching fur/feath hat. Not to keen on the pearl headpiece though.
amore_angel

She looks so adorable. I not so keen on the two colours together though. The matching hat is cute and the pearl headpiece in the last pictures is very cute and fairy like.

I love this dress! It suited both Mary And Elizabeth. That head piece does not do it for me though. Also, this dress seems to be a tad too big for her.
Lady-Demiya

I like the fact that she is wearing a yellow dress, just like her mother, in the scene of the party. The colour is quite pretty and goes well with her skin complexion/ I do not really like the headpice and the collar though, in the scene when she is going to have lunch.

This outfit is quite nice actually. Poor Elizabeth.
Grace_B

The pattern on the coat is divine. I love the turquoise on her and the swirls are beautiful. It's rather similar in my eyes to the one wore Jane Seymour on her engagement. The tunic compliments the gold underneath and stops it from looking tacky. I'm not loving the hood though, it makes her hair look very lank.
sixqueensofhenryviii

I don't think the page boy cut was in style back then. Again the colors are all washed out. Even a little bit of colored detail would of helped, but perhaps their intent was to make them both look like they are "disappearing . . ."- karenofbethany

I love the little cap here. It looks very pixyish! -Brennalarose

Ha Ha page boy haircut, that actually fits. I actually think her hair looks nice in these two scenes but in the above scene it looks too boyish. Isn't a lady's hair supposed to be long? The cap is very nice though.-Anne'sCurls

The little overcoat is very sweet over the gold. I like the swirl of colours. But she doesn't look very princessy here, and i still don't like the headpiece though it looks better here than with the other outfit.

You can't really see this one.
Grace_B

I hate to ever badmouth a child's appearance but it needs to be said. This little girl is very cute but why did they make her look like a boy. The colour is awful on her and doesn't compliment her hair. The actual dress looks like they used really cheap material from old curtains. The coat would have been okay if it wasn't for the mad fringing. She really does look like a cattle rancher from the Old West. What were they thinking?
sixqueensofhenryviii

I really don't like this outfit all. The colour is not cute for a little girl at all. It looks like something from the wild west with the fraying at the back. Calamity Elizabeth anyone?

When I first saw this scene, I thought Elizabeth was a boy! From behind that short hair and black coat makes it plausible.

Comments/Reviews

Lovely, pretty, simple and floaty. This looks lovely on her.
Grace_B

Very pretty and flowing. The empire waistline is very flattering due to her small height and elongates her body. The pattern on the bodice is also very pretty and I love the lacy skirt. The sleeves are amazing, I love how they turn from baggy and lacy around the shoulders to tight satin sleeves. With the flowers in her hands she does look a bit like a Tudor bridesmaid in this though.
sixqueensofhenryviii

Its a sweet dress, very light and flowy but perhaps a bit too much. I think it would be so much nicer if the sleeves were toned down, though i would love them on a much simpler dress. I love the design on the bodice and the pearl necklace finishes it of beautifully. I also like how the sleeves are attatched to the top.
amore_angel

I think 90% of this dress is beautiful, but I agree the top sleeves and the designed material attatching them to the bodice are a little too much. They should have just discarded the puffy. limp sleeves and attatched the longer portion to the actual dress, that is more child appropriate while at the same time beautiful. A part from the problem with the sleeves the dress is very unique and gorgeous. I love the flowing skirt and the gold deisgn on her bodice. This outfit makes me think the designers were inspired by the 1960's version of Romeo and Juliet. -Anne'sCurls

I love this dress and headpiece.

A real princess at Christmas.
Elizabeth
It's plain but is very christmasy. It's too big for her but I suppose children of this status would wear clothes slightly too big for them.
Grace_B

To be honest it is a bit of a boring dress. I've always had this rule that redheads should stay away from red and bright pink clothes, and I still stand by it. Visually there's not much going on so I'm glad they added the golden sash, which finishes off a potentially bland dress. Another problem is the fitting. It's way too big for her around the collar and shoulders and I think the skirt makes her look really small and disproportions her.
sixqueensofhenryviii

The colour looks ridiculous on her because of her flame hair. The fitting isn't flattering. She looks more like a dwarf than a little girl. It distorts her body and head. Very plain dress and sash as well and the fabric looks washed out.The wreath looks good on her though. Is the dress meant to be short enough to show her feet? Was that acceptable for a child her age?
amore_angel

Wow, um this was just bad. I don't know if it's the actress, the dress or something else but this does not look nice at all; especially when she is sitting on her dad's lap-Anne'sCurls

If I recall correctly this was the first Christmas since Anne's execution. In order to keep the same actress for Season 3 they had to make her appear smaller the first time she was seen, she was only a few months past her third birthday.I feel dress was fitted for that reason. The other dresses were to fit a child a year or two older.
Boleyn 1536

Alas, this dress is horrible, it does not suit her at all, it looks like an outfit for Halloween in her case. She looks nothing like a royal child, even a bastardized one.
- MarinadeChampagne-
[Untitled] Better than the one above but not by that much. This reminds me slightly of one of the dresses Anne wore when she was with Elizabeth as a baby after her christening in 2x04.
Grace_B

I'd actually like this if it wasn't for the crazy collar, which looks like a last minute add on. The green dress in itself is gorgeous and I love the patterns. She'd get away with the red lining and hood if it ws Christmas but I don't think that was it's intention considering she already had a Christmas dress.
Sixqueensofhenryviii

This dress is much nicer. The green really suits her and the patterns are wonderful. I also agree it would be a lovely Christmas dress especially if Henry didn't invite her to court himself, she wouldn't have needed to wear red. I also love the little red cuffs. Not to sure about the collar/shoulder thing. Seems a bit random, especially with the colours.
amore_angel

I like this outfit. This would have been a better choice for the Christmas scene above.

She looks so pretty in green. Thank gawd whoever wanted to make her first appearance give the impression of a dwarf was fired. This is a different sort of green which I have not seen on the show before and the pattern on it fits very well. The slight red peeking out from under the sleeves and at her feet works well. I do not understand why the designers wanted to put a multi-colored collar on her but it actually fits and reminds me that this might be a princess but she is still a little girl.-Anne'sCurls

I really like this gown. My favourite Elizabeth! She looks lovely.
Grace_B

This is a lovely dress, the green works so well with her complexion, she doesn't need to be dressing over the top. Bright colours in themselves makes her look glamorous. I'm in love with the striped bodice and matching cuffs. She looks very elegant here and it's very suitable for a young lady.
sixqueensofhenryviii

From what I can see of the gown I'm not so sure if I like it, I like the pattern on the skirt but I don't like the sleeves that much. The headpiece is very simple and pretty. I'm also going to take this chance to say that she is a perfect choice for Elizabeth.

I also think that this is the perfect choice of actress to play Elizabeth, I can see a resemblance to Anne in her face and a mix of the Tudor genes. I also like this gown.
Charlie-Beth-Hayden

I can't believe they couldn't find a better actress to play Elizabeth. I have a problem with her physically as well as her acting ability which is lacking.
The gown, I guess is ok. I like the gold horizontal lines across the front, but I just am not too sure about the patterns in the rest of the gown.-Anne'sCurls

One of my favourite Elizabeth gowns. It suits her position at the time.
Lady-Demiya

Very simple but regal and these colours are really flattering.

I adore this one. The last pic is the best because it's really high quality print and shows how lovely the whole gown is. The blue really works and suits her really rather well. I adore the bodice! One of my favourite gowns Elizabeth wore, second only to a green one.
Grace_B

The bodice is amazing. I love the floral design that stops the blue from becoming too plain and boring. I would have probably altered the shade of blue to something a little lighter, like a pastel shade, just because I think it would have gone better with her pale skin and red hair.

sixqueensofhenryviii

The dark blue is very nice and it works good on pale girls. I HATE HER HAIR! The fit seems "a little" strange but I think that is the style they were going for. The way the dress is made and fits her reminds me of what she wore when she was dancing for Anne of Cleves in a later episode. I like this make of dress and I do not recall seeing anything like it before. As I have said earlier I suck at details and can not describe what about the cut of this dress, exactly makes it so unique and appealing to me. The designs down the front looks like it is set on brown fabric, and somehow that brings out the pink of the flowers even more. The only thing I do not like are the puff sleeves at the top.-Anne'sCurls

Also, another wonderful gown for Elizabeth. I think her hair length is proper and so is her pale skin. Though, I am not 100% sure if her hair was fuzzy like that.
Lady-Demiya

This gown fits Elizabeth as a glove fits a hand! This dark blue flatters her pale skin. The bodice is lovely and her tiara is simply beautiful.
Marina de Champagne
I simply love this dress on her. Although I do not like the crimped hair. It drives me insane. But the blue fabrc and the bodice are stunning and work well with her Although the necklace looks rather cheao looking
AB_Fan07

One of my favourites!
Elizabeth looks great in this gown, she IS a princess!

Elizabeth Tudor - Dress
Amazing, one of Elizabeth's best gowns. She looks charming, I adore it! Is it turquoise or Peppermint though?
Grace_B

She definetly suits this colour, it is stunning on her. As soon as I saw it thought I thought she looks as though she has wandered from the Marie Antoinette set, but it is still a beautiful dress. I love the delicate and subtle pink floral patterns that adore the material, they really compliment each other well. I think this is my favourite Elizabeth dress.
sixqueensofhenryviii

Very pretty color. I normally dont like floral print on dresses, but I like this one. Its seems to suite her well and has a good sense of yough to it.
AB_Fan07

Very pretty gown, though it has a sort of Marie Antoinette feel to me. I think it's the bodice.
-EmerMorrisey

I know they have decided to make Elizabeth older than she really was this season, but in this gown and in this episode she appears too old imo. More like a 16yr old and too close in age to Mary. This gown also makes me think of Marie Antoinette (2006). I could have sworn they had a gown like this in that movie. -Anne'sCurls

One of my favourite gowns for Elizabeth. this pale green is lovely and it is even more beautiful on her. The flower are discreets and lovely.

My favourite gown Elizabeth wore! She looks charming in this. Green was Elizabeth's colour. It's simple yet elegant and she looks so regal and proud.
Grace_B

Again, another beautiful colour on her. This dress is simple but it takes nothing away from it's beauty. The way the dress ripples reminds me of a cascading waterfall.
sixqueensofhenryviii

Simple, but pretty. I like the green colour on her and the fit is good.
-EmerMorrisey

This is my favorite dress that Elizabeth wears this season. I like the skirt and I believe the fabric is nice as well. I wish they had curled this actresses hair. Again, like her introduction gown there is something about the way this gown is fitted that makes it so beautiful and appealing. Now this is a dress that would make her mother proud. -AC

She reminded me so much of Anne when she wore this. Don't know why but she did.
pretty_historian

Very beautiful. Also one of my favourites. I like the colour of this gown. It is different to the other gowns we have seen worn throughout the season.
Lady-Demiya

I love it, the colour flaters Elizabeth, the headpiece is to die for, her necklace as well!
Marina de Champagne
The Tudors Costumes:Princess Elizabeth - The Tudors Wiki I like this one, the rich blue really suits her. The bodice pattern looks okay to me, but I'm not sure. You can't see much of it.
Grace_B

I'm not tht keen on this one. The bodice in itself is horrible and chunky, and the yellow of it doesn't really compliment the darkness of the dress.
sixqueensofhenryviii

I'm really not liking the bodice. It looks like parts of an old rug and attached on to her gown as an afterthought. Does it fully go around her torso or is it just on her chest? I can't tell.
-EmerMorrisey

I have to agree that the bodice doesnt suit the dress. I dont know about the headpiece either.
AB_FAn07

WTH is in her hair?-Anne'sCurls

I kinda like it though I agree that it could have been really better. The bodice is beautiful, the color flatters Elizabeth but the idea was badly used alas.

I agree with sixqueensofhenryviii that the gown should be richer. The rich wine red looks superb on her, I adore it!
Grace_B

If the brown of the gown was darker and richer, this would have looked amazing. The subtle pattern on the stripes really add that little bit of life so it doesn't look too dull. The colour is just a bit ugly. A nice chocolate would have worked better. I love the beading around the collar.

sixqueensofhenryviii

I will first of all never understand why this show insists on bringing the ruff around the neck into the series. Second why put it on someone who is so young. I like what is in her hair but I do not like the ruff, they are trying to hard to make her look like Elizabeth decades from now. I will say I love the look on Laoise's face; stoic and calm, making sure nobody can read her.-Anne'sCurls

I agree with Anne'sCurls. I am not sure why they had the neck piece in this season. Sure Elizabeth is famous for wearing them, but I am pretty sure she didn't when her father was alive. Though, they have made her older in the season than she was in history. On another topic, the gown is lovely and the tiara matches it perfectly!
Lady-Demiya

I love this. I think they were trying to do a slight foreshadowing. In the way she composes herself. Although I do not like the brow color of the fabric.
AB_Fan07

The gown in itself is really pretty and once again, it flatters Elizabeth. But I agree with what was written above, this neckpiece ruins the beauty of the dress.
Marina de Champagne
Dream Sequence

Elizabeth - CostumeElizabeth - Costume
This dress is almost perfect. With the ruff collar Elizabeth is really showing off her style and how she'll be as queen.
Grace_B

The use of theElizabethan ruff here is justified to me as it symolises the future and it is rather an abstract scene. I am in love with the black bodice, although it does look rather gothic, I'm thinking very Amy Lee. I can't make my mind up about the ruffled skirt though. The beading on the bodice is amazing, very classy and regal and the whole outfit is finished off beautifully with the pearl necklace.

sixqueensofhenryviii

A vision of what is to come maybe? She wears the fashion of the later years of her reign as Queen.
Charlie-Beth-Hayden

She looks very regal here, especially with her signature ruff. Definite foreshadowing of her reign to come. I'm not sure how I feel about the really long necklace of pearls, but overall I like it.
-EmerMorrisey

Very good for the scene. It really does show Henry and the audience of the type of women she will be.
Lady-Demiya

The dream sequence on the Finale. She looks so much like the queen she will become. But I do agree that the necklace is a little random I simply love the bodice of the dress.. Al together I like it very much
AB_Fan07

This gown is too old for her and as a result it doesnt look good. Again they needed to stop putting this young girl in a ruff and at the same time the dress looks too big for Laoise. Also as a young girl her hair should be down. There really seemed to be no reason to make her look like Queen ELizabeth when she is only supposed to be about 11.-AC

I adore it, even if it is completely inaccurate. Elizabeth looks so regal in it!
Laoise Murray as Princess Elizabeth
ElizabethElizabeth
I actually don't mind this one much, but I don't have an opinion on it really.
Grace_B

This is the exact same pattern on the curtains at my local pub. Therefore I cannot help but think she looks like she's been sewn into a curtain. The fitting is perfect on her, but the pattern is awful. Again, I stand by my rule that red heads should not wear red. They should have made a more defined, plain bodice and perhaps left the pattern to the skirt alone.
sixqueensofhenryviii

Though I like the colour, I think the dress is awful. The pattern is cheap, the style is too simple. Poor Elizabeth.
Marina de Champagne
