"This may be true but fate did have a different idea for Henry when Jane died of puerperal fever after childbirth. I wondered how guilty he felt when she died cause he paraded her around the days after the birth in celebration of Edward being born. I understand celebration was customary but she really should have rested for a day or two. She may have not caught the fever, which like any majro disease is opportunistic. It is really sad but not totally uncommon with the way womens birthing care back then wasn't very sanitary. "

I have never read of Jane being paraded after Edward's birth. A woman was not supposed to be out in public immediately after birth and Edward's christening took place without Jane being present.

They all look fantastic considering they didn't wear make-up, God I look like a cadaver without it. I'd have been accepted less than Anne of Cleves! Some pictures of Anne Boyelyn I have seen she looks monstrous with a double chin and bulging eyes. By the way, we had a thread: Will JRM get fat in season three? I was just reading that by the time he married Anne he was going bald! Already in his forties. Men are so lucky they don't get judged for their noses, eyebrows and hairlines!
