| Queen Katherine of Aragon's Ladies | I wish these were rich wine red colours, like a lot of Mary's dresses! Nevertheless, you can see Katherine's colours in this a lot, more than any other lady and no other tudor queen, apart from Mary I herself, would wear this style. Grace_B I'm not overly fond of the gowns in the first photo but I think the other gowns in this category are quite beautiful once you get over the massive sleeves. I appreciate the subtle colour combinations of blue, grey and black which gives the outfit a great deal of sophistication. I also appreciate the simple yet differing patterns on both the sleeves and bodice which gives variety to the ensemble without being too overly fussy. The good quality of fabric and richness of colour actually makes them look quite expensive. It's just a shame that they didn't have skinnier sleeves or else they might have been a favourite. I assume the dresses are meant to be symbolic of how frumpy and out of touch Catherine is? poppypineapple. I adore the hoods in the second photo. I prefer the second and third photo costumes which have a nicer colour scheme. The corsets and plain but pretty. The sleeves are hideous though. Not only are they too big and puffed out but the matterial used is horrid. I much prefer the costume Anne got to wear though i guess she needed something more flattering to catch Henry's eye. latristessadurera I'm really not fond of these. They are not Katherine like at all. Katherine was a very stylish woman, and I wish they had gone with red for the gowns, as that was the colouyr of Katherine's livery. - TheLadyTudor If you ignore the sleeves, the dresses are quite lovely really. The colour combinations work well together and they look quite sophisticated and rich. If they toned the sleeves down to look like Anne's ensemble they would probably be the the nicest out of all of the Queen's ladies outfits. SixQueensofHenryVIII Very Katherine! The dark colours make them look very sophisticated and pious which is what she would want obviously. But the materials are so heavy, they look so dowdy. I'd hate to be wearing that on a hot day. There's too much going on at once. I also don't understand how Anne got to wear a nice L.I.W dress and not something like this. amore_angel I'm really glad that they decided to go historical with each of the Queen's ladies. You can clearly see the Spanish influence on the gowns that Katherine's ladies wear. I really like the gown on the left.-LNor19 Well, we have enough detail here, that's for sure. Enough velvet to make several Elvis wall-hangings, too. The lady on the left looks like she moonlights as a jockey. LOL karenofbethany I can never understand how Anne had such a fantastic LiW gown and the rest of them look look like crap? Did she give them bad directions to the mall or something? I understand she is supposed to stand out but come on!-Anne'sCurls Well, they certainly are extravagant and I do think 'Spanish' when I see them, so it all works. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| Queen Anne Boleyn's Ladies | These are my second favourite lady in waiting dresses. Her ladies look lovely. I adore the headdresses, My favourite is on Nan Saville with her hair - Immense! Grace_B Very boring, humdrum dresses. The colour, which I can only describe as beige, look hideous on even the beautiful Mary Boleyn and Eleanor Luke. The patterns can't be appreciated because the print is too similar to the background colour. I think less would have been more here and they should have reserved the pattern solely for the bodice. It looks like someone has just scribbled all over their dresses. On the upside however, Jane Seymour's yellow gown is beautiful. It's brightness and simplicity draws attention to her and makes her look very fresh faced and young. The pale yellow really compliments her golden hair and ivory skin. I like the added touch of the crown on the bodice, it makes it look like a real uniform. poppypineapple. I really hate the colours in the first photo, and i think Jane's pale yellow is much prettier, the others are just boring. I'm not a fan of the print used on the fabric either, and i don't like the crowns. I think again it is a case of the new love interest has a better outfit than the others. The hoods are awful too. You'd think Anne would have had better taste. latristessadurera Colour is bland, the pattern on the fabric makes it look horrid. The crown is clever but looks tacky. The only good thing about it is it looks light to wear. I don't like the French hoods either, apart from the little pearl drops on them. amore_angel I really dislike these dresses. The brown colour is extremely unflattering, as is the pattern on the bodice. They look like they haven't ever been washed. It's like a bride picking horrible dresses for the bridesmaids so they don't outshine her. Jane's light yellow dress is the exception to this. Hers is more becoming and doesn't have that horrid swirly pattern on it. I'm not loving the hoods either. SixQueensofHenryVIII Love these costumes. The French Hood is amazing and the design too. -LadyLorhen "If we read the English Bible will you give us a pair of those diamond earrings?" - karenofbethany These are the best so far. I adore the one Madge wears as well as her headdress. Too bad you can't see Madge's in this picture. Again I am jonsin for the gold pattern on a white dress.-Anne'sCurls These are my favorite lady-in-waiting gowns. Very regal and I love the pearls. MademoiselleBoleyn I like them, very elegant and regal, but I would of thought that Anne's ladies would have had more extravagant gowns. However, I do like the hoods and the pattern. |
| Lady Jane Seymour's Ladies (ladies to the left and right) | I adore the rich blue for ladies dresses. I am in love with the blue dress worn by the lady on the right. Grace_B The richness of the cobalt blue can be really appreciated because of the simplicity of the dresses. The accessories really compliment the costumes as the necklaces stop the necks looking to bare and the sapphire diadems gives it a bit glamour. The colour of the gown of the woman in the middle is very matronly and suitable for a woman of her age. I'm not sure however that the low neckline and bursting bodice is. She looks as though she ought to be on the front cover of a bodice ripper novel. By the way I always assumed that these were Jane's sisters and mother. poppypineapple |
| Queen Jane Seymour's Ladies | They are so simple but elegant and lovely. I adore them! It works really well and are Jane's lady in waiting style of gowns. Although the V shaped bodice wouldn't have been around these periods. Grace_B Beautiful again because of their simplicity. The colours and patterns are all soft and gentle, kind of like Jane herself. It's very hard to get pastel colours wrong. The diamond shaped French hoods bring a bit of glamour to the very practical and suitable dress of a lady-in-waiting. Beautiful in their own right but not outshining the Queen. I am particularly in love with Ursula Missledon's pale blue ensemble. poppypineapple The patterns are much nicer on the fabric in these dresses so i already like them loads better than the others. And the colours whilst not bright and eye catching are still pretty because of their paleness. I really love Jane Parker and Ursula's dresses. And i adore their hoods. Despite being slightl plain they are still really pretty. latristessadurera Plain dresses but probably the nicest out of the Queen's ladies dresses. They look nice and light to wear and don't have any stupid patterns on them. I love the pastel colours. I also love the pointed French hoods they wear. Just don't like the massive sleeves at the top. amore_angel They are plain but still very pretty, which is the correct criteria for a lady-in-waitings outfit. The subdued pattern and light colours are very becoming on the women and makes them look young, fresh and clean. I'm particularly drawn to Ursula's light blue dress. I love the the hoods, they are adorable. SixQueensofHenryVIII There's a lot of Jane in her ladies: they seems the princess of a fairytale.-LadyLorhen I really love the colour of these gowns, and the various headpieces her ladies wear them with, very inventive and certainly beautiful. - TheLadyTudor Jane looks like a swig of Henry's wine would give her a kick...the head dresses are a very nice contrast to Jane's. - karenofbethany I love these! Jane was known for being a bit strict with her ladies and the pale, simple dresses do make them look very unobtrusive. -Brennalarose I've seen these dresses in action and I must say I am not impressed. They give me the feeling of maid of honor dresses where the bride has chosen unattractive ones so they won't outshine her. The colors are horrible as are the sleeves. They remind me of something out of Victorian England. -Anne'sCurls These dresses are ok, but they seem kinda awkward and the hats that she has them wear are hideous. MademoiselleBoleyn I am in love with these gowns, particularly Ursula's pale blue one. Very simple and look very easy to wear. I hate a love/hate relationship with the pointed hoods though. One of my favorites of the ladies. I love the color and the headresses. Very simple as Jane would have liked AB_Fan07 |
| Queen Anne of Cleves' Ladies | These are some of few gowns that get away with the metallic colours and fabric because they are german and really show Anne's style in maid dresses. Grace_B These costumes actually work because although they are bright, bold and garish, they are relatively simple. The rich, metallic fabrics contrast wonderfully with the simple Empire line style and trumpet sleeves. The change of colour in the waistline and neckline also break down the overwhelming effect of such bright, loud colours. These would be a firm favourite if it weren't for the ghastly Cleves' hoods. poppypineapple I am actually quite fond of these dresses. The colours are stunning and the sleeves are gorgeous. Though i do admit that in the wrong light they can look a bit tacky. The hoods are horrendous! latristessadurera The colours are a bit urgh and they look very metallic and cheap shiny. But the fittings are nice. The gold colour isn't too bad but don't like the other one. I do like the empire waistline. I hate the headpieces though. The long sleeves are nice though. amore_angel I am really not fond of these gowns, the material looks a little cheap. - TheLadyTudor Considering they are meant to be the unfashionable ladies, I rather like these gowns. I think I would even go so far as to say they are my favourites. The material and colours are very vibrant and eye catching. It's just a shame that the awful headpieces ruin these amazing outfits. SixQueensofSixHenryVIII I love these dresses! They have the German lines spot on and the deep colors make me drool. --Brennalarosa My what interesting headdresses these ladies are wearing. ~Dakkietudor From what I can see, I am loving the dresses of her ladies. They have that ever after feel, where the skirt starts right below the breast bone. Or is that style from the regency era? :Goes to watch Pride*Prejudice and Ever After-Anne'sCurls I think these are probably the best ladies - in - waiting dresses so far! I can't wait to see what KH's ladies look like or KP's! HistoricQueen3 I like the trim on the dresses and the long sleeves, but other than that I'm not a fan...and the hats are ugly! MademoiselleBoleyn The head dresses I hate. The metalic is a bit tacky, and I hate the green gown [on the left] but the purple-ish one on the right is gorgeous. I love the long sleeves. |
| The Kings Sister Anne of Cleves Ladies | Ick! I hate these! What are they? Her taste has not improved one bit! I prefer the metallic fabric and colours, they were much better. I think these are simply discusting. And what is on that print! Stupid! Grace_B There's simply too much going on at once. The bodice looks like a chessboard, the sleeves are huge and distracting and the colour is very unbecoming. The skirts wouldn't be too bad on a simpler dress but everything clashes too much here. The fitting is also very bad, it makes these very slender ladies look fat and frumpy. poppypineapple Considering Anne's taste was meant to have improved when she spent a bit of time in England, she's playing a cruel game in making her ladies wear these. The bodice alone is lumpy, shapeless and looks like it's been cut from a patchwork blanket. I hope these women were well paid because these are just truly awful. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| Queen Katherine Howard's Ladies | These are my favourite lady in waiting dresses of the series. The trims on the shoulders and the waist may be just additional, but look lovely. They really represent Katherine and her childish ways infact. The headdresses are actually pretty simalar to the ones Anne B's ladies wore. Grace_B A bit childish really, though I think it's meant to be symbolic of Katherine. The yellow part of the dress looks like the recycled cast offs of Jane Seymour's gown when she served Anne. I appreciate the detail on the bodice and skirt but in truth it looks like it belongs in a children's fairytale book, not on the uniform of the Queen of England's ladies. From far away it does look quite fetching but up close it borders on ridiculous. I detest the fringing on the shoulders and waist, it makes the outfit look messy and unfinished. A ladies gown should be simple, neatly presented and clean as she is an example to the rest of the court. poppypineapple I like the yellow aspect of them but i'm not that fond of the print used in the corset and underskirt. It reminds me of the quilt cover i had when i was five, and it's quite cheap looking really. The bodice is also dangerously low. I know it's meant to be like that but it looks awful on some of the girls with bigger boobs, they're bursting out. Not too keen on the fraying on the shoulders and waist, seems unneccessary. latristessadurera I can defiantly see Katherine's ladies wearing these! The dresses are so cute and the pattern is very girly and youthful, I also like the head dresses. A very poor copy of Anne B's dresses. The bodice looks like someone has recycled a tent from a jousting tournament , you can still see the toggles! The fringing is unnecessary and doesn't add anything to the outfit. Not very classy or even stylish. The light yellow colour is quite pretty however and highlights the girls youthfulness. SixQueensofHenryVIII I really love these gowns. Very pretty and cute, most definatly Katherine-esque. I really must be crazy. I can't understand how I did not notice these gowns until now. I really just thought her LiW were just running around in whatever they felt like. I think these gowns are the best since Anne's in season 2. There is something very young and cheerful about them. I do not know what is printed on the underskirt but I at first thought they were flowers. I usually am not a fan of yellow but I like the color in this instance. This is a great improvement over Jane Seymour's LiW gowns. Also note how there is alot of clevage shown, I wonder if the bodice was lower cut to give more of a feeling that these are teenagers and not proper ladies. Not saying that to bash the design or the ladies, I just think the lower cut bodice gives the ladies more of a sexual feel than previous ones. I really love everything about these gowns. -Anne'sCurls |
| Queen Catherine Parr's Ladies | These are fantastic! And they suit the ladies very well. Her ladies outfits compliment Queen Catherine and her's. Grace_B These are very beautiful. The red print on a gold background goes well together and gives the impression of being regal without going over the top for a lady-in-waiting. The flat feather caps are also quite genius and contrasts Catherine's style from all the other Queen's who had their ladies wear hoods. I am particularly in love with Anne Herbert's upturned collar gown which distinguishes her from the rest of the group in a subtle manner. I think I these are my favourite ladies gowns. poppypineapple From what i can see it is very simple and modest. latristessadurera I like them they look like a mixture of Anne Boleyn's and Jane Seymour's ladies wresltgal These gowns are very lovely, understated and simple yet very pretty. - TheLadyTudor These dresses are rather blah to me. Very simple. Elegant though I'm impressed by these. Between the two I prefer the red pattern on the gold background, which looks very classy and fashionable at the same time. The red ones are pretty but perhaps a little too bold for the young ones and they sometimes outshine the Queen herself. The hats are amazing and make a refreshing change from the numerous hoods we see. SixQueensofHenryVIII Looks like this is the first time since Katharine of Aragon that dark colors have been used for the LIW. I think the pattern on her sisters dress is very nice and regal. All around I get the feel from these gowns that it is a more somber and serious time than with Jane, Anne and Catherine. I do wonder why they chose red and gold as the color scheme; I'm not saying I don't like it, it just strikes me as odd for Katherine Parr. -Anne'sCurls The choice of colour for Catherine Parr's maids is authentic to history. She was known to dress both herself and her ladies in "crimson". Check out her profile for a quote about it. - MsSquirrly |
| | I love the frills just below the neckline. And the headdress compliments the whole outfit. But i have nothing more to say, the rest of the gown is dull and boring and it seems she isn't far from naked! With the shoulders revealed completely you just get that feeling. Grace_B Although the colour is dull the gown is brought to life with the shimmering lacy fabric, the fancy frilled trimming and the very sexy off the shoulder cut. I feel she is a bit to bare however. A pretty necklace to bring attention to her chest and removing the snood so her hair is resting behind her shoulders would have been more effective in my eyes. poppypineapple The cut off this dress is inspiring, very clever. It works well because of the plain colour so there isn't too much going on at once. I'm not too keen on the snood though, she has lovely hair although if it was down we probably wouldn't be able to admire the style of the dress. The lace around the bodice is lovely. latristessadurera I like how its off the shoulder and the ruffled neckline but i'm not to sure about all the detail on the fabric and fitting. It looks like its falling down, especially in the second picture. I like the snood though. amore_angel Bessie wears some of the best female costume in the whole series, with Margaret Tudor. I love the neckline of this one, and the headdress too.-LadyLorhen The colour is bland and the fabric looks old and used. HOWEVER, the style is gorgeous and I'm in love with the 'off- the-shoulder' cut. The ruffled lace around the neckline touches it off nicely. SixQueensofHenryVIII It really sets off her beautiful skin nicely. - karenofbethany I think this would have looked better, if she wore a necklace or had some deoration round her neck. HistoricQueen3 I like the simplicity of this dress and I really like the neckline, but I do agree that a necklace would have been nice. MademoiselleBoleyn A necklace would be nice, but I like the gown. Very pretty and simple. |
| | I adore this! The vibrant blue is first of all, fantastic, and is the main point in this! I adore it, Amazing! And the bodice isn't too over the top or isn't horrible, but just adding. And the Vs on the back of the overcoat aren't distracting either. I love it! Grace_B The rich royal blue already makes this an acceptional piece. Add to this the beautiful gold floral embroidery on the bodice, and the sleeveless overcoat over a low necklined dress to create a sexy but sophisticated illusion, and this has to be one of the finest costumes of the series. I also love the simple hair accessories that don't steal the limelight from her dress. poppypineapple I adore the vibrant blue, it looks amazing on her. And the detail on the front is beatiful in gold. The sleeves are gorgeous too. I love the simple sexiness of the dress as it just shows the right amount of skin. latristessadurera Amazing dress. The blue is so rich, the detail is beautiful but not too mich. I love the sleeves and her hair decorations. Just absolutely perfect and she wears it so well. amore_angel The sleeves are wonderful!- LadyLorhen The colour alone is divine, but the way the gown has been constrcuted with the sleeveless coat over the "off the shoulder" styled dress is pure genius. The gold embroidery gives it a glamorous elegance. SixQueensofHenryVIII Everything about it is wonderful! Love the detail in the back of her hair. - karenofbethany This is such a beautiful dress, I love the color and the embroidery is fantastic. MademoiselleBoleyn This is a lovely gown, the rich blue compliments the gold pattern beautifully. The colour is beautiful. |
| | This is the dress of most of Catherine's ladies. But it is fantastic! The only thing I'd say is the sleeves, I hate them! Ick! But the headdress is amazing too and really completes the whole look. Grace_B Again as with all of Catherine's ladies dresses, this would not be too bad if it had skinny sleeves. The mixture of black and gold compliment each other well and give off a nice, warm tone that matches her hair. It looks quite regal and the black aspects of it is very sophisticated. It's a shame really because this has the potential of being a lovely dress. poppypineapple Minus the sleeves this dress is pretty. The bodice is quite pretty with the mexture of gold and black. Perhaps get rid of the white hood too. latristessadurera The dress itself is nice but i hate the massive sleeves. The striped bodice mixes the colour well together, and the heavy outskirt looks good with the lighter middle part. amore_angel Again if it wasn't for the huge sleeves, this dress would be quite nice. It's a quite elegant yet glamorous dress with the gold elements in it. I think a black hood would have been more fitting than a white one, which doesn't really go. SixQueensofHenryVIII Is this pre-natal sickness or post-natal depression? Did she borrow Henry's sleeves? - karenofbethany The dress would be ok with different sleeves. MademoiselleBoleyn This is a hideous dress. There are very few KOA LiW gowns that are appealing, but this one is very bad. It is frumpy all around, and the sleeves should be black instead of matching the underdress.-Anne'sCurls |
| | This doesn't really suit Bessie here because of her complexion. Which is such a shame because the gown itself is lovely! I adore it. We can only see the bodice here though, I would love to see more of it. Grace_B I think this gown would look nice on another lady but the colour is too similar to Bessie's natural skin and hair colour to suit her. It washes her out too much and again she isn't being helped out because of her snood. I think this sort of gown would suit Anne Boleyn as she would be dark enough to pull this off convincingly. poppypineapple The bodice is really pretty, but the colour is a bit uninspiring. latristessadurera The colour is a bit plain and makes her look pale but she still looks beautiful in it. I love the bodice. amore_angel It's a bit of a boring dress really. The colour washes her out and the bodice looks a bit tatty. SixQueensofHenryVIII Hair is flat but other than that it's a nice gown. - karenofbethany The bodice is so beautiful on this gown and I like her French hood. MademoiselleBoleyn The bodice is pretty. |
| | She looks like a proper, smart lady here. The jewels are lovely but not over the top or outstanding. Grace_B She looks very dignified in black. The jewels and veil make it complete. latristessadurera Good considering its a mourning dress. amore_angel The veil is divine. SixQueensofHenryVIII Very very dignified. Hard to see the pretty fabric. - karenofbethany I love the veil-Anne'sCurls Good mourning dress, I love the veil. |
| | This is lovely! Unlike Anne's in this scene, which looks to lower class. But this is fantastic and really suits Perdita as Mary! Grace_B Such a pretty, playful dress. I adore the off shoulder cut which again gives us that sexy image. The silvery colour really suits her and the swirls of pattern makes it really pretty. And the slight opening in the corset is amazing. latristessadurera She looks so cute in this dress. I love how the bodice fastens, and that the sleeves are almost of the shoulder. Sexy with a hint of playfulness. The colour is a dull but the pattern stops it from being plain. I love the necklace with it too, it really compliments the outfit. amore_angel The pattern and cut is fun and girly. I just wish they would have put a proper lace up bodice in, it seems a bit incomplete without it. SixQueensofHenryVIII I don't know...the whole look doesn't look like a serious contender for Henry's interest to me. Too childish. - karenofbethany I'm still really angry with their casting of Mary! I mean the girl's all right for her but the huge draw of mary to Henry was her blonde hair!!! Blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin, that was Mary! How hard is it to dye this girl's hair and put in blue contacts?! ~Olympe of France I love this dress, especially the cut of the bodice. The material is very nice too and goes great with her necklace. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | I adore this dress but It doesn't go well at all with the cloak and the hat is awful! The cloak is horrible. But I adore this dress and it may have gone well with another cloak from the series or perhaps just a different one. Grace_B Take away the hat and cloak, the dress itself is very pretty. The pale shade of orange is gorgeous and suits her well, and the dress complimented with that heavy necklace is really lovely. She needs to lose the hat forever, too many feathers, and the cloak not only looks like an old rug but totally clashes. latristessadurera The colour of the dress suits her. But there's just too many things that it makes it look a mess. The heavy necklace takes attention away from the gown. The heavy cloak with strange, loud patterns on also does this. And then that hideous hat that looks like its alive. Too many feathers and i hate that frayed orange thing at the front. They should have kept it simple. amore_angel To be honest, the dress in itself is pretty and quite fashionable. It's just a pity that they chose to accesorise it with an old curtain for her cloak and stuffed a dead bird in her hat. No wonder she's crying. SixQueensofHenryVIII This gown is gorgous! Not many can pull off orange but the rich fabrics and colours look lovely. - TheLadyTudor If I were Anne, I'd be tempted to toss her from court just for this outfit! The hat looks like the Roaring Twenties. My grandmother had a pin like that necklace. I don't think people of her station were even allowed to wear that many feathers. What was the costumer thinking? The color suits her, but that is the only good thing about this outfit. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | My favourite part of this dress is the sleeves and the back of the skirt by far! That metalic fabric with the metallic purple colour is fabulous! And the velvet bodice goes well with it all, I adore the pattern. Grace_B The colour is divine and i adore the combination of shimmering sleeves and skirt with a velvet bodice. The detail on the bodice is beautiful along with her jewellery, i really want her headpiece. latristessadurera Love this dress. The colour looks gorgeous on her. I love the bodice so much (Mary's not the unnamed woman) and the skirt and sleeves go so well with it. I also love the purple stone in the hairpiece. She looks amazing, you can see why he got with Mary. amore_angel A beautful gown, the colour is so fun and lively. It really suits Mary's vivaciousness and I'm surprised they didn't use something so glamorous and fashionable on Anne instead. I love the gold drawstring on the bodice and her tiara is divine. SixQueensofHenryVIII I just LOVE this costume!! It's gorgeous and suits Mary/ Perdita Weeks. The costume was also used for a promo pic with JRM-? I don't think it's the same. Look at the bodice. Mary has got that piece with the gold string, the other one no. But probably they fixed it. -LadyLorhen Very pretty dress. I can't see her as Anne's sister or ever having been a serious interest for Henry, though. - karenofbethany This dress is super pretty and the color is so rich! I love the design of the bodice and the beautiful embroidery on it. MademoiselleBoleyn This dress makes me drool... the colours, and the design and embroidery. A very cute, rich dress. |
| | I can't see much of it, but of what I can see i adore it! Although the sleeves look discusting - I hate them! Grace_B I agree with amore_angel, she looks gorgeous despite this hideous creation. Very bad fitting, not much shape, unflattering fabrics and horrible colours. It's a good job she's pretty enough to pull it off. latristessadurera She still looks so cute, her face is beautiful that she still looks amazing despite that horrible gown. The crisscrossed orange thing is hideous and i hate the pinafore thing over it. Urgh! amore_angel For some reason, despite me disling this outfit on a whole, I think it looks great on her. I think she wears the dress rather than the dress wears her. It looks little better than a peasant girl's outfit to me. Very baggy and shapeless. SixQueensofHenryVIII This doesn't look very Tudor, and it's not very flattering, it looks baggy as well. Slightly reminds me of something from Ever After except this is uglier. HistoricQueen3 |
| | The shade, I think, is too light for her own complexion. She should have gone for a slightly mellower shade, it would have looked much better. And why is her headdress not the beautiful one most of the other ladies wear? Grace_B The dress itself is uninspiring, i think she would have looked nice in the yellow shade Jane Seymour wears. That hood is ugly though, no doubt about it. latristessadurera Plain dress. Nice pattern but nothing special. The necklaces really make these outfits. Don't like the weird hood either. amore_angel Plain dress, I would expect the sister of the queen to have a more extravagant gown. I like the necklaces though, and the pattern on the gown is nice, I'll give it that much. The hood is horrid though. I really disliked these dresses in the first place but hers looks so much worse just because of that awful hood. Is Anne punishing her because she slept with the King before her? SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | This is a simple but pretty and rather elegant gown! I adore it! And the pendant works really well, I think. She looks lovely, even the sleeves are nice. Grace_B Really pretty and a combination that works well, but perhaps just a little bit more red would stop it from looking so boring. latristessadurera A good example of gold and red together when not used in excess. The red neckline is just the right amount of colour and goes well with the wreath. amore_angel Perhaps a red band around the waist and this would have been perfect. It's a lovely dress, just a bit bare. SixQueensofHenryVIII This is a very good example of adding just the right amount of a very rich color to a plainer color for a truly beautiful effect. I love this dress and wish we saw more of it. MademoiselleBoleyn Plain but very pretty, the red and gold are amazig together, and I love her necklace. |
| | The fur is slightly unflattering, I find, and the headdress is horrible, I hate this one and the one Mary wears as lady to Anne B - Is it the same? But the dress, despite being incredibly boring and really plain I like it. Grace_B Very plain and boring, the patterned trimming around the corset and shoulders makes it a bit interesting but otherwise, without the fur, it would just look like something a mere lady would wear. Still hate the hood. latristessadurera Plain but nice again. The fur shawl makes the outfit more complete. amore_angel A very traditional Tudor gown. It's nice but not very figure flattering, she looks very flat chested here. The jewelled neckline and fur shawl add a lot of character into this seemingly plain dress. SixQueensofHenryVIII Look she has trumpet sleeves-Anne'sCurls FINALLY! Something that actually looks like it belongs in this time period! I mean the dresses are gorgoues but they are so NOT right for the time! ~Olympe of France Finally something that looks like it belongs in the time era, I like it, very nice. I like this dress and I really like the trim they used around the neck. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | Gorgeous. The colour suits her really well and the pattern is simple but pretty. Her accessories really make this, i adore her hood and sash, maybe not so keen on the broach, something smaller might have gone better. latristessadurera A beautiful dress. The off white colour suits her complexion perfectly, The broach and beaded sash set it off wonderfully. Also love her French hood. amore_angel Although a rather plain colour it suits Anna very well and she makes it look effortlessly beautiful. I'm in love with the jewelled sash, I wish we saw more of them in the show. SixQueensofHenryVIII The dress looks like a shoe box, and I don't get the jewel sash across the front. What does it signify? - karenofbethany I love this dress. I'm pretty sure it's the same dress that Anne wore in episode 2-09. ~Dakkietudor This dress is very pretty and I like the sleeves a lot. I also really like her French hood. Isn't that brooch one of the ones that Henry later comissions for Anne? MademoiselleBoleyn Very beautiful coloring, very beautiful material. From the front the sleeves look a little strange around her upper arms. Perhaps they should be made tighter and not so loose. -Anne'sCurls |
| | I adore this dress, so simple and yet so amazing. The colour is beautiful and i love how her chemise is exposed under the split. It's quite modest even though we know she herself isn't quite as modest as she makes out. latristessadurera The colour is nice, but i don't like the elbow split with the chemise under it. amore_angel It's nice and all but what was the point of cutting the elbows out just to have white linen popping out of them? SixQueensofHenryVIII Didn't Mary Tudor wear this? - karenofbethany I really like the color and I love the sleeves. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | Amazing, vibrant colour latristessadurera Goregous colour but a bit plain. amore_angel Beautiful color! MademoiselleBoleyn I am in love with the colour, it suits her. The gown, from what I can see, is rather plain though. I can't say much about this, other than it is a beautiful colour that suits her well. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Amazing dress, the bodice is beautiful. I think it looks better on Jane simply because Claude's complexion is almost the same colour as the dress, so it looks a bit silly on her. But her tiara is divine. latristessadurera Just a bit too much detail on the bodice but its still beautiful and she looks stunning in it. Love her tiara. amore_angel This dress is fabulous!-? I love this dress, detail on the bodice is gorgeous.-LNor19 You can see here why everyone wanted to copy French Fashions. - karenofbethany I'm not really a fan of this dress, I think it's kinda gaudy. MademoiselleBoleyn Very glamorous, she carries off the colour well in my eyes considering her dark complexion. I love the jewelled bodice. She looks every inch the Queen and a powerful one at that. I think this actress would have made a great Anne Boleyn looks wise. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Pretty and very feminine. I love the soft, pastel colurs and delicate floral patterns. This would have looked good on Annabelle Wallis. latristessadurera I usually don't like stripes but they work with the floral decoration. And the beads are perfect. amore_angel I would wear this dress! -Arabella_Tudor The pale colours and floral design plays upon her soft and feminine side yet the slightly bared shoulders shows a hint of playfulness and subtle sexiness about her. The contrast of the stripes and flowers is genius. SixQueensofHenryVIII I always wished the sleeves were pulled up on to the shoulders, but other than that the pearls compliment the gown well.-LNor19 Are the pearls (necklace) attached to the dress? Very clever how they are set off on the bodice to match. She is beautiful. - karenofbethany I really like how the different colored stripes set off the flowers on the material. And the pearls are fantastic, they look gorgeous. I also like how the bodice is slightly off the shoulders. MademoiselleBoleyn WoW, what can I say. I love the pearls, the material, the design on the bodice, the coloring, how it is off the shoulders etc. I adore the headdres and how her hair is styled. I wonder if this show is trying to make the French seem more tan than the English, to portray that they are from different countries?-Anne'sCurls |
| | This dress is amazing, whoever created it should be very proud. The colour is so vibrant and the fabric is gorgeous in itself. I'm in love with those sleeves. Everything fits together perfectly and Claude wears it beautifully. latristessadurera The blue is gorgeous and i love how it is mixed with gold. The bodice work is amazing especially with that broach. And these are my favourite sleeves ever. amore_angel A very complicated dress, I think it would have benefited if they had took the huge, distracting broach off the bodice. The sleeves alone are very beautiful and I love the pattern on the skirt. I think Queen Claude is my favourite Tudor fashionista. SixQueensofHenryVIII Oh this is so beautiful! I love what was done with the top of her hair. The only thing that is distracting is that lump of green pinwheel which is echoed in the sleeves, it looks bulky and like an afterthought. Come to think of it, the whole pattern on the fabric seems a little "abstract" for Tudor times... - karenofbethany I love the way this dress seems to gleam, the jewel tones are fantastic. I also love the brooch she is wearing and how the sleeves are slashed. MademoiselleBoleyn Too much going o at once, the big broach isn't flattering, the sleeves are horrendous, too many colours at once. |
| | This dress is pretty but it doesn't suit her, she's too dark to wear it and it clashes with her tone. Dare i say she's been tangoed? It looked stunning on Annabelle Wallis because she is fairer. I'm not loving the fur either, might have worked if it was white. latristessadurera Orange doesn't work well with her complexion. It looked better on jane. And i don't like the brown fur lining. amore_angel It is a pretty dress but as others have said it clashes with Claude's dark complexion. The tippet also cheapens the outfit. It looked divine on Jane but not so much on Claude. SixQueensofHenryVIII Here we go again with a repeat dress. Is it the camera angle (right) that makes her look like a blimp? The fur around her neck looks like something pulled out of a clogged vacuum cleaner. - karenofbethany I really hate the fur around it in the first picture, and I'm not that keen on the colour, I prefer it on Jane but she wears it well. I like this dress, but I think it looks better on Jane. I'm also not a fane of the fur tippet around her neck. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | She looks very exotice here. The mixture of blue and gold really does look great on her. And the slashed sleeves are beautiful. latristessadurera She looks a bit like an Egyptian queen here. Once again i love the style of sleeves. amore_angel I love how the theme of blue, gold and white carries on into her jewellery and crown. She looks very regal here, almost Amazonian. Her hair is beautiful. SixQueensofHenryVIII Oh I absolutely love this dress. beautiful! ~Dakkietudor This dress is so beautiful, the colors complement each other perfectly. I also love how the sleeves are slashed. MademoiselleBoleyn The colour is lovely and although I normally don't like those sleeves, they look nice with this gown. I love this outfit, very Aztec. - TheLadyTudor |
| | I'm not loving the white parts, what is the exact point of that? But the dark blue overcoat and silvery bodice and sleeves are lovely. The hat is adorable and really set of the outfit. Blues really suit her. latristessadurera Considering the plain materials its a lovely dress. The blues and whites go together and the hat works with it too. The mixture of colours isn't too OTT like other dresses that try to pull it off. A nice day dress. amore_angel Considering she's meant to be a wealthy lady and wife of the Queen's brother, her status isn't reflected well in this. The white is boring and plain, however, I do like the silvery blue on the bodice and how it continues into the sleeves. The hat is also kind of cute. SixQueensofHenryVIII Why does she always have exactly the same expression on her face?! Mistress Kateryn The dress is okay, very simple, nothing special, the blue overcoat goes well with it though. This dress is ok, the overdress goes nicely with the white dress she is wearing under it. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | The dress is pretty but would have looked better with a bit of colour to bring it to life. The coat is hideous, too big and not a nice colour. I really like the bodice though. She looks very elegant. latristessadurera Its a bit unflattering on her and makes her look a bit chunky, but the colour is good on her. Its a simple dress and looks more plain because she is wearing a travelling coat. amore_angel Again, considering how rich and powerful her husband is, I would have thought she would have had more extravagent outfits. The coat is huge on her and looks as if it should belong to a farmer or in a ww1 trench. White doesn't suit her. SixQueensofHenryVIII Very simple and bland. The overcoat isn't flattering on her. I'd like to see her in colour. I like the dress a lot, but it needs to loose the coat. The dress looks really nice with the single strand of pearls. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | This dress is beautiful. I am in love with those sleeves especially the lacey puffed out parts. And the detail around the colour is amazing. I love the white wreath too. latristessadurera Second favourite wedding dress. The top is beautiful with the embroidery. I also love the off white colour and the white garland in her hair. The little toggles on the skirt put me off a bit though. A lovely wedding dress for a mere lady. How i picture a medieval wedding dress. amore_angel It's very pretty and cute. I'm in love with the lacy part of her sleeves and the toggles on the outerpart of her dress. SixQueensofHenryVIII I think this dress is kinda frumpy and messy looking.MademoiselleBoleyn |
| Questioning her husband, George Boleyn | What is it with her and white? Stop it! It's boring and doesn't suit her! The red outerdress is pretty though. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | I love this dress on Jane. It seems to suite her very well. I love the tiara and the fabris of the dress. Especially the bodice. AB_Fan07 The material of bodice is lush and i like the plain, simple pattern and colour scheme. It suits her since she is only a lady-in-waiting. latristessadurera It looks nice to wear. I like the bodice but not the fabric on the skirt continued. Is it the light that makes it look darker? The headpiece is pretty too and so is the simple beaded pearl necklace. amore_angel Ooh I love the bodice, it looks very plush. The silver radiates elegance. SixQueensofHenryVIII I love this dress! I like the bodice and the fabric. If there were bell sleeves I would think it came from TOBG-Anne'sCurls I like this gown; the colours are very nice together and the fabric is very nice, it's a dress I'd like to see more of. This is my favorite Jane Boleyn dress. The fabric is so gorgeous and I love the trim they used around the neck of the dress. The headpiece is very beautiful too. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| Seeing Thomas Culpeper | Very sexy, I love the material it's made from and how it ties up. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | The colour is lovel. I'm not sure about the lace around her neck, and i like the front of the bodice but the trimming on the back doesn't do much for me. latristessadurera I hate this gown. She lookss like a peasant almost. The colour is okay but the overall dress isn't nice at all. A bit country girl/peasant. The red is amazing on her but the high necked chemise cheapens the outfit a bit, not helped by the wreath. I'll let her off since it's Christmas though haha SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| Execution clothing | Again with the white! Can't really comment on this outfit since it's for her execution. The lace around the neck is pretty though. Poor Jane :( SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | I adore this. The print of the skirt is very beautiful and it is brightened by the red bodice and sleeves. The cap is cute too. A very feminine outfit. latristessadurera I don't know what to think about this outfit. I love the upper half of it. The bright colour looks good on her and i love the detailing of the corset and how it fastens. I also love the 'snow white' puffball shoulders. I'm not a fan of the fabric of the skirt but it goes really well with the top. And the hat is lovely, i love the use of feathers and the jewel broach on it. amore_angel This gown is okay, I like the skirt and sleeves and the hat looks great on her. The outfit is ok, but not one of my favorites. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | Too plain and not very well fitting. latristessadurera Very bland colour and not flattering at all. The bodice looks too loose and the coat looks too big for her, you can really see it in the sleeves. Its a good job her face shines out itself because otherwise she'd look a big mess. amore_angel Unflattering colour, the overcoat isn't nice at all and what the hell is up with her headdress?! This color is very unflattering and the overcoat looks bad. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | Very plain, though the colour looks good on her. I hate the sleeves, but her tiara is gorgeous that it makes up for it. latristessadurera Not a big fan of the massive sleeves but other than that its a lovely dress. She really does look good in tone downed red. I love the cuffs and the long necklace and tiara piece stops her from looking too plain. amore_angel I am not a fan of the puffed sleves, however the colour and cut is lovely. - TheLadyTudor I don't like the huge sleeves but the colour is very pretty on her. This is a very pretty dress and the color is very flattering. She is actually capable of pulling of the huge-sleeves look. I really like her tiara. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | The bodice is pretty but the rest of the outfit is too heavy for her. latriesttadurera This dress looks like its been made out of old curtains. The material looks really heavy, though the bodice is quite interesting. I don't like her hood though, looks like a pin cushion. amore_angel I really like the embroidery on the bodice, I don't like her hood though. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | The red and gold go well together, not too excessive. The hat is adorable! latristessadurera A very cute dress. The gold and red works well on her and i love the stylish hat with the red feathers, it makes it more interesting. amore_angel |
| | It really does look like a wicker basket, not helped by the wood effect of her necklace. I like the snood though, they look nice on her. latristessadurera The bodice looks like its been made from a wicker basket. The colour is not flattering. The necklace looks like its been made from twigs and the hood is bland, adding no excitement to an already very bland outfit. amore_angel |
| | Gorgeous, simple but elegant. I love the skirt and underskirt, and she and Charles compliment each other's outfits well. I adore her tiara. latristessadurera Her best dress. The light colour of it really does her credit. And even though it is a simple dress there are little things about it that make it beautiful. Such as the frilled cuffs and neckline and the pattern around the bodice. The pattern of the underskirt is also nice but understated. amore_angel This is one of my favorite Catherine Brandon dresses. I love the silk and the cut of the bodice and sleeves. I also like how the skirt is open to reveal the underskirt. Her tiara and necklace are gorgeous. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | I really don't like this, the dress looks really old, like it's been stuck in the attic for years and someone brought it back out without bothering to dust it off. latristessadurera Half of this dress looks like its been made from a dusty old spider's web. The ruffled lace is too much and looks very dirty. It doesn't help when the effect has been carried on down into the bodice either. The colour is bland, the headpiece is too simple for such a boring dress and the green shawl doesn't do much for it either. And when the collar is that high there's no point in wearing beads as a choker. amore_angel This is my other favorite Catherine Brandon dresses. I love the embroidery on the bodice and the more simple embroidery on the sleeves and skirt. The color looks very feminine on her and the green shawl adds just a hint of color. The headpiece went perfectly with her pearls and the dress. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| Gown worn in deleted scene. | I'll be the first to comment on this gown; is it just me or is this the one worn by Ursula in the season 3 promos? I like it, the colour and the sleeves. I'm pretty sure this is the Usrula promo dress, but it looks so much better on Catherine. The combination of colours make it really beautiful and she suits the pastel colours really well. The gold pattern on the bodice is stunning too. She wears this so well, and it suits her. latristessadurera |
| | The material is so lush, and that colour looks amazing on her. I adore the sleeves and both headpieces are amazing. I love Anne Stanhope's fashion sense. latristessadurera I love her hat, its amazing! amore_angel The hat is just amazing, and the dress is beautiful. - TheLadyTudor The rich colour and material are very glamorous and extravagent. These are the sorts of outfits that Lady Parker should have wore as the Queen's sister-in-law. The quilted sleeves are divine. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Not the nicest dress in the world, i think the colour is a bit too bright for her, and the pattern is nice enough. latristessadurera Rather plain dress but the colour gives a bit of life to it so it isn't completely boring. amore_angel This dress was plain, but pretty and the color looked very good on her. I like her French hood and necklace too. MademoiselleBoleyn The dress is from Elizabeth (1998), her coronation gown. Looks better in that movie. GOLDENAGED.ER The colour is lovely but the pattern ruins it. I wasn't a fan of it in Elizabeth but the dark lighting doesn't really do it justice. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | The bodice is amazing! And the colour is beautiful. The outfit looks really good on her. I love her hair too latristessadurera I love it; the colour, the bodice, the fabric and her headpiece is nice. Love it. More rich colours, she's very glamorous. The striped gold bodice is amazing along with the stunning headpiece. Sigh! SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | The simpleness of this dress works because of the vibrant red used. It's used at an appropriate time too so it's acceptable. I think out of all the times it been worn, she looks the best in it. latristessadurera This gown has been used multiple times; first on Natalie Dormer as Anne and then Sarah Bolger as Mary, and now her. The colour is nice on her, I love this dress, simple but pretty, and the laced up effect at the back is amazing. Simple but she wears red very well. I appreciate the lacing up at the back. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | The skirts looks very Grecian to me. It's amazing, so lacey and floaty, i would want to spin about in it. latristessadurera Very floaty and girly. Looks nice to sleep in. This is a lovely, floaty nightgown. I particularly like the colour. - TheLadyTudor Ooh very pretty. An unusual colour for a nightgown. I like it for the most part, except the frilling on the neckline. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Love love LOVE this gown. It looks very authentic and like it belongs in the time period, the sleeves are amazing and I like the bodice. Looks very authentic. I love the contrast of the solid colour of the bodice mixed with the damask skirt. Deep, rich colours suit her really well. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Isn't this one similar to what Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour wore? Perhaps Catherine is a nice sister and gave her some royal hand me downs. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | The bold red definetely suits her, as do the big sleeves. She looks the best in this outfit out of all the other ladies. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | She doesn't suit light colours well. The dress doesn't fit her that well and the contrast of the different materials makes it look lumpy. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Very classy, I'm very impressed with the upturned collar. I think she suits bright, bold colours rather than light, subdued colours. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Very plain, not a flattering colour and I'm not loving the hat at all. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| |
| | As stated in the dresses of Katherine Howard's ladies, I dislike this dress immensely. It's cheap and tacky. To be honest I can't look at her with an objective eye because her short hair makes it hard for me to accept her in any Tudor regalila |
| | The dress itself is very boring, but i adore the cloak and hood. The blues give it some life, though i understand that she's not meant to be wealthy. latristessadurera I dislike the dress, it's very boring and the lines are visually unflattering. But the cloak is amazing. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | HIDEOUS! Just plain HIDEOUS! She doesn't get away wearing such a bright, luminous colour, and it looks awful anyway. It makes her look so much older than what she, whoever said she looked like mutton dressed as lamb was correct. Perhaps Katherine Howard might have got away with it. The cuffed sleeves are awful too. What an ugly dress, and she looks awful herself here. latristessadurera Did they even have fluroscent colours back then? The colour is hideous on it's own but it really doesn't look good on Ursula, it makes her look old and washed out. And aren't ruffed sleeves Elizabethan? It's just too modern for my liking and Ursula isn't exactly selling it is she? She looks hungover! SixQueensofHenryVIII She looks awful. The colour does nothing for her at all and makes her look sickly pale. Even without the hidous neon colour, its a plain, boring dress. The ruff cuffs look stupid. And is there lace covering her chest or is that skin? Either she has serious health problems or they should have used lighter lace. She doesn't exactly sell it either. It may have worked better on a younger, fresher faced lady but she looks so old and haggered here its like mutton dressed as lamb. amore_angel I absolutely hate this dress!!! The colour is all wrong, and makes her look like she's wearing an fluorescent orange safety jacket!!! There is no lovely detail on this, and the gold deco at the top of the bodice looks like she's stuck some cuttings from a scrap box on! And the ruff at the edge of the sleeves, isn't that Elizabethan? Need I say more? HistoricQueen3 I like this dress and I think that the color looks very nice on her. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | It's pretty and very suitable for a lady-in-waiting. The pale blue is lovely and the simple pattern stops it from being boring. I really like that hood too, they're the best types of hoods on the show. latristessadurera Its an alright dress though i don't like the lace around the neckline. I do like the pointed shaped hood though. Its fitting for a lady-in-waiting but Jane totally outshines her, both in clothes and in face. amore_angel I like this dress better than the other lady-in-waiting dresses because of the blue color. MademoiselleBoleyn I love this dress, I prefer it to the other ladies in waiting gowns. The colour is gorgeous, the pattern is very subtle, and I think the lace around the collar works really well. I'm not so sure about that hood though... My favourite of Jane's ladies gown. The shade of blue is so pretty and I'm in love with that hood. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | The dress is pretty but it doesn't look as nice on her as it does on Catherine Brandon. I think she's a bit too top heavy, the bodice looks chunky on her, and she's not very freshed faced so it doesn't look good on her. latristessadurera I like the mixture of colours, the purple makes it more interesting. The puffball sleeves work well too here and i love how the purple continues in the sleeves and the skirt. The leaf like patterns on the bodice makes it more attractive too and the necklace really finishes it off well. amore_angel The skirt and colour is divine. The fitting of the bodice isn't very flattering but the gold pattern is very elegant. I'm surprised this wasn't used for one of the Queens or that it didn't have any on-screen time. It's too pretty to have been wasted like it was. SixQueensofHenryVIII I don't like the puffed sleves at the shoulders, however the colours and patterns are beautiful. - TheLadyTudor I think this is such a pretty gown and I love the purple color that was used. I think it is kinda funny that Jane had a gown that was similar to this, but that Ursula is the one to be wearing the royal color of purple. MademoiselleBoleyn I've just fallen in love. This gown is stunning and one of my favourites from The Tudors; I love the purple and the cream colour together, the pattern on the bodice is so pretty and I like the sleeves. |
| Promo Shoot Season Three | Strange outfit. I love the bodice, it reminds me of my prom dress which was silver and had a similar floral pattern on it. The skirt ruins the glamorous look though. The fabric looks cheap and little better than an old blanket that's been sitting in the garage for a few years. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | I like the blue trimming on the cloak, that's about it. The hood clashes with the whole outfit though. laatristessadurera The cloak looks odd to me. Not much to be said really, its a simple mourning dress though with the light hood i think she's trying to go against it a bit. I like her black gloves though. amore_angel I like her headpiece, but I think her cloak is kinda odd and I don't like how all of the blacks clash. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | Whilst i do love the vibrant yellow, there's simply to much of it here for it to be anything other than tacky, which is a shame because i really liked this dress. Perhaps if the metallic yellow was in the bodice with a paler, subdued skirt would have looked better. The bodice is stunning though and the slashed sleeves go well, though i think it would have been better to leave the sleeves loose rather than tighten them at the elbow. Not loving the tiara, it looks like a few of the pearls have come off. latristessadurera The colour is gorgeous, and i love the embroidery on the bodice. I'm not too sure about the split sleeves though and i hate the pearl hairpiece, looks like she's wearing teeth on her head. amore_angel On the whole I like the outfit, however I think they should have saved it for when she was the King's mistress rather than for her introduction to court. Perhaps it could have been used to make the King notice her. It just seems wasted in this scene and she sticks out like a sore thumb. It could have been used as a great way to show her rise in favour. I can imagine the rest of the court thinking she was little better than a prostitute in this, though to be honest that was more or less her role in this series. SixQueensofHenryVIII This is a beautiful dress, which I believe Lettic Knoylls also wore in The Virgin Queen. I love everything about it - the cut, the fabric, the pattern, and particularly the colour. - TheLadyTudor This dress reminds me of a dress Elizabeth wore in The Virgin Queen. It's very nice though, I think it would look better with some neck jewellery or her hair down. HistoricQueen3 I love how unique and flamboiant this dress is, it's perfect for a King's mistress. I love the embroidery on her bodice. And I think her tiara is gorgeous. MademoiselleBoleyn |
| | This gown reminds me of one of Nell Gwyn's gowns in "Stage Beauty". -Anne'sCurls It looks more Baroque than Tudor to me, but it is still lovely. The subtle but rich colour loos very sophisticated on her. The bodice certainly flaunts her....ahem....assets ;-) SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | This is one of my favorite mourning gowns on the show. It's unfortunate that it appears impossible to get a good view of it, but I love it none the less. Much better than the mourning attire Catherien Brandon wore, only thing that comes close is Bessie Blounts viel.-Anne'sCurls |
| | The colour is so rich and vibrant, and that material is so lush. Iadore the lace up bodice. latristessadurera I love the colors and the cut of these two dresses. They are very pretty. MademoiselleBoleyn The fabric used is gorgeous, it's so silky it looks almost like liquid. The colour is beautiful too. I just wish they would have continued the red theme by wearing ruby tiaras. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Very pretty, even though the colour is a bit plain the detailed bodice and patterned sleeves make up for it. And the white tiaras are perfect for the outfit too. latristessadurera I love the cut of the dresses and I think the materials complement each other very nicely. MademoiselleBoleyn Sweet dresses, they look very pretty and innocent here. The floral pattern in the sleeves stops it from being too boring and I love the style of the style and shape of the dresses. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | The colour isn't that inspiring but i adore the empireline waist, even if it is more Regency than Tudor. The bodices themselves are pretty, especially the one on the right. latristessadurera These dresses are a bit to drab and shapeless. MademoiselleBoleyn Can they only afford one headpiece? They wear the same tiara in every scene! The dresses are somewhat cute but a bit boring. I prefer Jane's to Joan's. SixQueensofHenryVIII |
| | Well I'll be the first to comment on these gowns. I love the colour combination, black and gold, it works well. For some reason I prefer these to the white versions. I love the black versions, there so much better than the white. latristessadurera Both versions are great imo, if I had been on set I would steal one of each color and. Of course they are far from historically accurate and show too much skin, but :P who cares, they're pretty to look at.-Anne'sCurls They look more classier than the white versions but I'm still not fond of the style in general. Should we vote now on whose Lady in Waiting gowns we liked the most, or wait until we get a good look at Katherine Parr's?

I got confused with jewels and costumes... someone might want to redo Mary Boleyn or not.
