I love Mary, somebody needs to. She had a hard time as a teenager/young woman, yet she remained strong and true.

Mary is one of the most misunderstood persons in history.I study her life and understand her a lot, and wait for the day she will be understood.
Maria

Mary just fascinates me and it saddens me how misunderstood she is. The more I read about her the more my heart goes out to her. She had a very hard life as a teen and I don't think she ever really got over it . I hope she is at peace now and that she is with her mother.

I have always been interested in Mary, she is by far my favourite Tudor Monarch. Mary stayed to true to her beliefs and faithful to all she loved. She had a very hard life and has has been slandered for centuries, but never remembered for the kind, religious, gracious woman she was. I hope that one day people will see Mary the way I do.

She is such an interesting and complex woman, who endured a life of hardship. She was a good woman at heart but was messed up because of her cruel father.

It was through Mary´s compelling and tragic story that I first got interested in the Tudors, when I read the wonderful novel "Mary, Bloody Mary" by Carolyn Meyer--thus I´ll always be grateful to her for that in any case! ;) But even in herself she fascinates me more than any other Tudor, with her traumatic coming of age story, her courageous arrival to the throne, and then the tragedy of her reign and marriage. She has also long received a bad rap beyond what she deserves thanks to years of Protestant propaganda after her reign, and so I´m interested in her and defending her for that as well!

Like you all, I believe that Mary was very misunderstood. She was a strong, beautiful, kind hearted, loving, virtuous, and devout individual just like her mother. Her childhood was so tragic and sad, thanks to her father, and I wish that I could go back in time to give her a hug and let her know that people love her. I think that Mary's story needs to be told as much as anyone in the Tudor dynasty.

I admire Mary very much for all that she endured in her life. There was so much turmoil in her life from a very young age. I can only believe it was due to the love and education by her mother and her devotion to her religion that kept her grounded. She was and is misunderstood and wanted so much to be loved. Her religion was the one constant in her life even when her personal, family and political life was in a shambles, so is it any wonder she was so devoted! Rest well Mary...you ARE loved!

Desilee I love Katherine and Mary's Story. I could relate to both of them. I also have seen that HISTORY does repeat it's self over and over for centuries, maybe alittle more modern each time, but still the same. I do know how Mary feels to have such a jaded life and then a big wake up call in her teen years. To find out the real world isn't sugar n' spice n' everything nice in the world of even with your parents and they hide so much from you and make you think every thing in the world is like a fairy tail and then you are out on your own and find out the real truth about life. "It Ain't Easy!" But that is what helps us grow up and learn how to cope with our demons. I am really anxious on seeing how Mary copes with her lose of her mother and she's not daddy's favorite any longer. And ...her relationship with Elizabeth as they grow up. I've really don't know that much about Mary as I do Elizabeth. Eventhen I don't know that much of the story after Anne Bolyen 's beheading to a Grown Elizabeth. in fact...I don't know that much about Henry after Anne. God, I love this site I learn so much about what really happened.. you guys are Awsome.
Marina(I always change my name) Anne'sCurls I am not a huge fan of Queen Mary I because I don't take kindly to any sort of religious persecution. But Mary's story before she became queen needs to be told and I think Sarah is doing a fantastic job of showing it. She was a loving and kind girl who was destroyed by her father and the people around her; most notably the men. She was dealt a bad hand to play and unfortunately she didn't play it well. But how can you not feel sympathy for a girl and woman who so desperately wanted the love of her father, her husband, and her people? The scene where Mary sings to her little sister, that daughter of the woman she hates most, speaks volumes for me! Not only because she loved this child who belonged to her hated enemy but also because she wanted and deserved to have children of her own. Her father didi to Mary what Henry VII did to Katharine, kept her in limbo for years refusing to let her experience what life had to offer. I think more people who have seen the image of crazy Mary in movies like Elizabeth, and The Virgin Queen need to watch The Tudors and see how she used to be.
Daniel Ebusitanus The show made me a great Tudor fan and above all one for KOA, Thomas More, Cardinal Fisher, Ambassador Chapuys and of course sweet and mistreated Princess Mary.
I started reading up, buying books and find its quite an uphill fight to bring some justice to the way this proud, brave and stubborn woman has been portrayed along all these centuries.
For those really interested, take a look at the excelent bio by Linda Porter.
Julia LadyLizzy Mary is the princess who lost her title, the daughter whose father abandoned her for selfish reasons. I can't help but liking her for her courage and her steadfast loyalty to her mother. Also, she took care of her little sister Elizabeth, although she had every reason to shun her. She deserves more than a sullied memory.
Regina Reggie19 This girl was treated horifically by her father, but still managed to endure with her head held high, have so much respect for her!
Henry King Henry VIII To show my deepest respect. I have loved Mary always and forever. She never understood why Henry did what he did sadly and that though he really loved her. She was stubborn just as Henry, and they never had the best communication. Maybe simply because of that reason that they were so alike...
Mary Mary_Tudor because She was the first daughter of the King of England and had a really hard life without her mother. Sarah Bolger is a great actress for this role
Meg GoldenAged.ER After getting into the Tudors and researching Katherine of Aragon, I felt bad for Mary, honestly. She was purely a victim of circumstances gone bad. Just goes to prove that divorce/separation really messes up the children that are involved. Also, after seeing her portrayed as such a grump, I wanted to see what happened to her growing up to make her so bitter, if she ever did get along with her siblings, etc. I wanted to see how she became who she was.
Mary marymore I personally like Mary. I feel that she was definitely given a bad rap in history and I love how the show and Sarah Bolger show that there was a method to her madness later on when she became a monarch and that no person is either good or bad, but their life experiences make them so.Maybe if Henry wouldn't have divorced Catherine and disowned her we wouldn't have Bloody Mary today.

I love Mary! I think she has been given a chance at last on The Tudors show to prove that she wasn't some wicked Queen when she reigned. Sarah has done a great job portraying Mary beautifully :o)
Gloria Eternity123 I love Mary and how she is portrayed in the show! History isn't kind to Mary and places her as the 'villan'. I disagree with this, and feel she was a victim. Being loved for by her mother & father in her early years and having that taken away from her; must have been awful. I sympathise with her a great deal.
Sarah has played her very well !!
Mercè LadyKatta I love how her is portrayed in "The Tudors"! I don't think she was a villian or even wicked, she just did the same that other kings did. She was a victim of the circunstances. She was taken apart from her parents, I can't imagine how painful could be this!
Sarah Bolger did an amazing job portraying her!
Jessica gapeachjessica I have always found Mary a fascinating figure in history. She dealt with so much suffering, and negative propoganda. I sympathize with her plight, and hope that she is finally at peace.
Amy
theothertudorgirl
I think her story is fascinating as she was a victim to her father's will and then later her husbands. I am glad that the Tudors represents her as a human not as some evil villian in comparrison to her sister. (who I like as well).
Colton
Cusreed I LOVE HER! Ok yea I'm a guy so what. I love her in the show. She is such an angel and I feel so bad for her. By the way I LOVE Sarah Bolger. XOXOXOXOXOX (im 15 ok lol) ;)
monique cranmerfan88 she is wonderful
Chelsea Maryboleynfan Sarah Bolger is the best actress on the Tudors. As for Mary I think she was treated unfairly by her siblings, but especially Anne Boleyn and King Henry the VIII, I think she was a woman judged to harshly by people, she was a sad, misguided woman who truley believed she was doing these things for the right reasons. WE STILL LOVE YOU MARY!!!!:D RIP
Maria LadyJane1961 She was strong sad and alone.
May MaryJuana Mary has become one of my favorite people on the show now! Sarah portrays her so well. She had such a sad life, but she was strong through all of it.

Sarah Bolger's Princess Mary is enchanting-my favourite Mary Tudor on film by far. Queen Mary I was a courageous Princess in a violent age. Hers was a true-life Cinderella story. She triumphed over the tyranny of her father but there was to be no happy ending for England's first Tudor Queen Regnant. She is my favourite Royal and I am happy her reputation has been much restored by modern historians. RIP Princess. Please know you are remembered with much love. ♥

I just love the Mary character. I love her interactions with Henry and I love how strong and brave she was under the conditions that she had to live in.

Poor Mary...I feel sorry for her.She spent a difficult childhood being without her mother.....The only thing I dislike about her is the way she treated protestants during her reign...
Chelsea Maryboleynfan Mary tried so hard for years all she wanted was to be loved and accepted by her father. But ever since her father had been in love with Anne she had to deal with the fact that her father loved Elizabaeth more. Mary was kind and loving to her siblings and they didn't return that love. I love Mary becaue not many people do but even in the face of all that rejection she till kept trying to be a good Queen until she died. RIP Princess Mary you are always in my thoughts:)

I have never cared nor wanted to learn more about Mary. But Sarah Bolger has just been fantastic in her portrayal of Mary. I've join this Team more for Sarah than for Mary, but maybe I'll come to like Mary more... =D
Trisha JRMSLADY09 I still in some ways don't understand Mary but, from the series I have learned somethings I didn't and I have now the desire to see why she may have been misunderstand as a person and a queen!

A woman who bore so much love but recieved very little herself. Completely misunderstood by all excpet her own mother and stepmother Jane Seymour. She was an intelligent, brave woman who overcame many trials but lack of love from her father, brother and sister made her bitter. She did all she did not through malice but through love, and even though her actions were wrong, she did it because she thought she was saving their immortal soul. Sarah Bolger portrays young Mary perfectly and we can see how she changed into the embittered woman she later came to be.

I thinkthat mary would have been a great queen if it was'nt for the fact that she had such a hard time growing up, eg henry!!!!
You can really see why she turned out the way she did...

Mary is one of the strongest women in history, what she went through really opens you eyes to the hardships faced in that time. Yet still in the end, she was faithful and strong, an inspiration to anyone...

Sarah plays Mary perfectly. She was a lovable character who tried to fight hard against the world but she just couldn't make it. Her acting skills are amazing i wonder how she copes playing the sorrowful Mary all the time. Her character is so heartbreaking that all i want to do is just give her a hug. I think Jane thought the same too. I love how she stood up against Anne. She is truly her mother's daughter.
Annabelle

I love Sarah's potrayal of her and how she remained innocent during the reign of her father. I was reluctant to join at first but now season four is upon us I'm loving her more and more.

Lady Mary Anne
I feel sorry for Mary, she is an example of how people are not born Wicked, but have Wickedness thrusted upon them. She only wanted to be loved, but instead spent her whole life never being complete. I think that Sarah's performance has shown people the history of a complex woman, which hopefully will start to undo the damage that has been done to her reputation
Petya m3m3nto_mori I think Mary I was a great monarch and her role of first England's queen was depriciate... I like her portrayal by Sarah Bolger very much, she really enters into Mary Tudor's part.
Lyn likesthesilence I've been a fan of Mary since Sarah Bolger took over the role in season 2. I'd never given much thought to the historical Mary before the show, but the way Sarah has played her has made me a real fan both of her and of the character, enough that I just can't get enough of reading about the real Mary.
Monique ladymary22 she is beautiful
Rafeeah I'mTheCheesecakeHere I have always been a loyal fan of Mary ever since she was betrothed to the dauphin of france. She is so beautiful and never got anything she wanted but still remained happy. I admire her for that.
Lynsay MaryTudorFan I absolutely love Mary!
In the show, Sarah Bolger is phenomenal. In real life, Mary was a truly fascinating woman. Strong, determined, and I believe that if Henry had accepted Mary as his Heir, she could've been an even greater ruler than what she is remembered for.
