Albert Nobbs finally confirmed 10.12.10

Filming on “Albert Nobbs” is set to begin this Monday in Dublin, Ireland.Glenn Close herself has confirmed that Jonathan will indeed be in the film in a small role. Brendan Gleeson and Maria Doyle Kennedy have also joined the cast. The film will be shooting for seven weeks around Dublin and Wicklow.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Returns to Rehab

The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers will return to London for treatment again for his alcohol addiction, PEOPLE has confirmed.

"He just really wants to get better," says a source close to the actor. "This has been an ongoing battle for him."

Rhys Meyers first entered rehab in April 2007. He was arrested that November for public intoxication at the Dublin airport and was detained by police in June 2009 at the Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris after allegedly assaulting an airport lounge employee while drunk.

The actor's rep confirms to PEOPLE that he is again seeking treatment for his addiction, but declined further comment.

May 4th, 2010 : Jonathan will be a guest on the <a class="external" href="http://www.pbs.org/kcet/tavissmiley/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Tavis Smiley Show</a> (PBS) and has also been nominated for a Golden Nymph award at the Monte Carlo Television Festival for Outstanding Actor in a Drama. He has already been nominated twice and received one award. (June 6 - 10)

Jonny celebrated his 32nd birthday by attending a U2 concert July 27th and July 29th looked cool arriving at Irish music promoter, Denis Desmond's 50th birthday party held at his home in Killiney in Dublin, Ireland.

After cancelling some appearances because of illness, Jonathan was spotted back and healthy yesterday (April 7) showing off his athletic side. In a white tank top and dark warm-up pants he hit the asphalt outside his West Hollywood home for a game of basketball with some friends.

Contrary to what was being reported,Jonathan Rhys Meyers denies having checked into rehab earlier this year.

In February, reports swirled that the Tudors star had checked into a facility in England. The buzz began after he had missed several awards ceremonies and TV appearances. But when Meyers showed up at the Soloist premiere in LA last week, he slammed the rumors.

He said, "I just felt I needed time off and I didn't need to go to awards ceremonies. You can get slightly waylaid as an actor doing that sort of thing and I'm never that comfortable at them anyway."

He did admit to seeing a counselor in England, but that was the extent of it. Meyers said, "I live an incredibly low-key life. I think people would like to think I'm a hell of a lot naughtier than I am actually. I am actually quite a boring guy."

As for what’s really occupying Jonathan’s time at the moment, he says, "I spent the last week and a half playing bloody golf. Me, Jonathan Rhys Meyers! If anyone saw me in those stupid golf clothes on the golf course, there would have been a different story written!"

Well, we’re glad to hear it! And we’re happy to see that nothing has gotten in the way of the Tudors, which is now in season 3 if you haven’t tuned in yet!

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Held After Airport Brawl By Peter Mikelbank <a class="external" href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20287309,00.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="People Magazine">People Magazine</a>

Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was detained by French police on Saturday afternoon following an incident in which he allegedly assaulted an airport lounge employee while drunk, Agence France Presse reports.

The Irish actor, 31, was placed in custody for several hours for having a skirmish with bar employees and allegedly punching one at the Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris, according to reports.

The incident began when a bartender at the café area "Le Quotidien" in the departure area of the airport at terminal 2F refused to serve the actor, who appeared drunk, according to the news service. A shouting match developed between Rhys Meyers and the bar manager. Then when another bar employee tried to separate the pair, Rhys Meyers swung and punched the intervening waiter.

Police handcuffed the actor when placing him in custody, and sources tell PEOPLE that the actor remained in a sober lock-up area for three hours before being released.

The AFP reports that Rhys Meyers has been told to appear before the Correctional Tribunal in Bobigny in September to answer charges concerning, "voluntary violence, contempt, issuing death threats and assault," according to a judicial source.

The Tudors actor was previously <a class="external" href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20161359,00.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">arrested for public intoxication</a> in November 2007 at the Dublin airport. In April of the same year he <a class="external" href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20036531,00.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">spent time in a rehab facility</a> for treatment.

A rep for Rhys Meyers had no comment.
