Reason: I love Thomas. He was one of the few back then who wasnt willing to compromise his beliefs. Thomas was a family man who rathered spending time at home with his wife and children rather than to be at court,he also educated his daughters. He was known for his intelligence I really admire him for not giveing in to Henry even though he payed the ultimate price. Jeremy did a fantastic job at playing Thomas he stole every scene he was in. Reason: He has balls! Hell if it were me and the oath came between me and my jewish faith i would have to cave and take the oath! That shows alot of courage that he could die for his faith. Reason: Sir Thomas More was such a strong and intelligent individual who wasn't afraid to stand up for his beliefs and stayed loyal to his principles. Also, I don't think anyone could portray Sir Thomas More any better than Jeremy Northam. Not only does Jeremy Northam look like More, but his performance was so amazing and exactly like I had imagined Sir Thomas More being. Submitted by: hrm_elizabeth

Reason: There isn't anything I could say that hasn't already been said above, but I think what impresses me the most is he knew what was most important in his life and remained true to those beliefs to the end. So much to admire about this man, and to think that almost 500 years later the way he lived his life is still something that we admire, respect and revere speaks volumes. What can I say about Jeremy Northam? I first became a fan of his when he starred in "Emma" as Mr. Knightly...yummy!...but his performance as More surpasses anything I have seen him in. Reason: I LOVE More's character so much!!! He loved his family completely and took a step towards rights for women, by educating his daughters. He was also devoted to his religion, and he prefered to stay at home, than in court, like so many of the courtiers. I also LOVED Jeremy Northam's portrayal of More, he played him brilliantly, even to the bitter end!!! Submitted by: HistoricQueen3

Reason: He was a brave and kind man who always stuck by his conscience and stayed true to his beliefs. He had great courage to defy the King but he still did it with the greatest respect and didn't rub it in Henry's face. He was also a wonderful family man and was full of much love and compassion.
