Family: son of Carl Wilhelm von Sydow a professor at the University of Lund and Baroness Greta Rappe who worked as a school teacher, Max has two sons Claes and Henrik.

Education: Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stockholm (1948-1951)

Actor Bio: Born Carl Adolf von Sydow to a wealthy Swedish family, von Sydow is most remembered for his collaborations with legendary Swedish director Ingmar Bergman (who was also his mentor). Von Sydow has been acting for over five decades and has proven himself a flexible actor capable of roles in various genres. Von Sydow hasn't performed in many television series, therefore his presence on "The Tudors" is a rare treat.
