Short Biography on Maria Doyle Kennedy
Maria Josephine Doyle was born on25th September 1964 in Clontarf,Co.Dublin,Ireland. She is an Irish actress and a singer.In 1988 she married musician Kieran Kennedy and has 4 boys.Louis,Jesse,Daniel and Savador.Mary speaks fluent Irish.
Maria releases her own music on Mermaid Records a label she founded herself in 2001.
Her debut solo albulm Charm was released in 2001. She coordinated Sirens which is a compilation albulm of female artists and which was released in 2003. She releases an albulm called Skullcover in 2003 which consisting of cover versions.
Marias new releae is entitled Mutter.
Maria played Nataly Murphy in the Commitments in(1991) and can be seen in Greggorys two Girls(1999) Nothing Personal Moll Flanders,(1996), The Matchmaker(1997), I could read the sky(1999)
Miss Julie(1999), J.J Biker (2001), Mystics(2002), Tara Road (2005), and Spin The Bottle(2003).
Maria has alo worked in TV series She had a small part as Patsy in the hit Irish comedy Father Ted, and she appeared as Marie, Stuarts sister in the UK version of Queer As Folk.
Maria portrayed Queen Katherine Of Aragon in The Tudors for which she won a IFTA as best actress in a Supporting Role Television and a Gemini award.

| Q When you took the role of Katherine did you have any idea how you wanted her to come across to the audience?|
MDK I wanted people to see her strength
Q Did you do any research on Queen Katherine to prepare youreself for your role on The Tudors?
MDK I Loved Antonia Fraiser's book "The Six Wives of Henry VIII"
Q What was it like working with Natalie Dormer and Johnathon Ryths Myers?
MDK Angels the pair of them.
Q What was your opinion of Katherine before you took the role?
MDK To me she was always the most fascinating one, they were married for longer than Henry was married to all the others.
Q Katherine is often portrayed as the weak Queen in most films about Henry VIII. BUt in THe Tudors she is portrayed as a strong willed women not willing to lose her husband to a younger women, was it your intention or was it written in the script that way?
MDK That's a fairly universal story, no? It was certainly my intention and Michael Hirst agreed with me.
Q Did you enjoy wearing The Tudor style dress and jewlerry?
MDK Yes! Who wouldn't.
Q Did you have to learn Spannish for the role of Queen Katherine or is it your secondary languauge?
MDK Yes I did and I became obsessed with the language and the culture, I am planning on moving to Spain later this year.
Q What was your favourite scene with KIng Henry, Johnathon Ryths Myers?
MDK I couldn't choose just one.
Q Are you surprised by the over whelming response to the show?
MKD Luckily I'm in Ireland while all the madness is happening in the U.S.
Q Did you get a chance to watch The Tudors?
MDK Yes I watched the eight episodes back to back while I was in LA.
