Character's backstory: Historically, one of four knights named Constable (John, Robert, Marmaduke, and William) who participated in the Pilgrimage of Grace. He was from Holderness, and either a brother or a cousin to Sir Robert Constable. Robert (1478-1537, executed by order of the King at Hull) was much more prominent in the rebellion than John, and for that reason he was one of the men executed, drawn, and quartered along with Robert Aske and Lord Darcy.
