Sir John Constable as played by Kevin Doyle
| Character's backstory: Historically, one of four knights named Constable (John, Robert, Marmaduke, and William) who participated in the Pilgrimage of Grace. He was from Holderness, and either a brother or a cousin to Sir Robert Constable. Robert (1478-1537, executed by order of the King at Hull) was much more prominent in the rebellion than John, and for that reason he was one of the men executed, drawn, and quartered along with Robert Aske and Lord Darcy. |
Position: Member of the Pilgrim's Council at Pontefract
Personality type: A man of strong convictions, Constable remains true to his faith...and to his own suspicions concerning King and country.
Signature look: Bearded and solemn, his worn-out clothes carry the badge of faith characteristic of the Pilgrimage of Grace

So I thought the guy who played Sir Constable was Sir Robert Constable, but I just looked on the character page and he is listed as John Constable? I am confused. Why did Robert Constable get renamed John Constable? Is that a mistake?
