Originally from Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, Frank's National Abbey Theatre appearances include The Last Days of a Reluctant Tyrant, Julius Caesar, Defender of the Faith, for which he received the Irish Times/ESB Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actor, The Wild Duck, Communion, The Sanctuary Lamp, Translations, The House, The Tempest, The Importance of Being Earnest, She Stoops to Folly, As the Beast Sleeps, Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, The Adventures of Shay Mouse, The Third Law of Motion, The Last Apache Reunion, The Playboy of the Western World (Helen Hayes Award, Washington DC), The Glass Menagerie, The Gentle Island and The Lower Depths. Other theatre work includes The Ugly One (Royal Court), Under the Black Flag, Coriolanus (Globe Theatre), The Shadow of a Gunman (Tricycle), Aristocrats, The Collection (Gate Theatre and Lincoln Center, New York), Life Support directed by Harold Pinter (Aldwych Theatre), Torchlight and Laserbeams, Equus (Gaiety Theatre), Wild Harvest (Druid), MoonshineHamlet and King Lear (Second Age). (Red Kettle), Frank's first television appearance was in The Railway Station Man, directed by Michael Whyte for the BBC. Other film and television appearances include Small Engine Repair, JJ Biker, Circle of Friends, Getting Hurt, Out of Hours, The Ambassador, The Mammy, David Copperfield, Padraig Pearse in Rebel Heart directed by John Strickland, The Affair of the Necklace, As the Beast Sleeps, Anytime Now, Pulling Moves, The Man Who Lost Ireland, Proof, John Erman's The Blackwater Lightship, Recoil, Murder Prevention, Bad Girls, Hunger and Bitter Sweet. Frank is currently filming his second and final season of the much-admired US television drama series - The Tudors.
