How patiently you raked the leaves only to allow me to jump in the pile and scatter them again, and you loved the fall for the colours and painted glorious pictures of the trees. I have them all, the pictures, and I remember all we did together. I love you so much and I miss you dearly. You were my heart and soul, my rock and my refuge. I'll never forget. My life will be Forever Autumn,
Cause you're not here.

My Dad was a wonderful singer. He had been accepted to the New England Conservatory of Music for voice. WWII was on in Europe, and he was drafted shortly after his acceptance, and although could have stayed out of the war and gone on with his training, my Grandmother felt he should serve his country. He decided to go into the Army and lost his opportunity to become a famous Tenor. Dad loved Luciano's voice, and Pavoratti was his favorite opera singer. I like to think that his dream is coming true and he's finally singing with the Maestro.

Dad's last Christmas gift from me was a CD of Christmas songs by Il Divo. He fell in love with their rendition of Over the Rainbow. I was helping my Mom w/something on Xmas day and had put the CD on. I glanced in the living room and saw Dad sitting in the chair, very relaxed with a big smile on his face while this song played. It was also a song he'd sing to me when I was a child. I listened to this song continuously for a week after his death. What this meant to me was that he had indeed gone 'over the rainbow' and was very happy with his new life. As Elizabeth I wrote "His Last Letter" after Leicester died, so will I write:
