WEEK 8 ENTRIES:	WEEK 8 VOTES:
WINNING ENTRY By Izzy 2PM: As Charles and the Queen enter the feast, the Duke realises that all the other queens managed to get there before them, “that’s odd, I’m sure we left first,” he thinks to himself. However, Charles is far too relieved that he no longer has to worry about all the bad luck to dwell on such a matter. There are more important things to think about- like how he can somehow spend much more time with this beautiful woman. Henry beckons Charles over so he reluctantly leaves the new object of his affection with her fellow Queens and heads over to see what the King wants. “Well, what did they say about the alliance?” asks Henry. As Charles is about to reply that everything went really well and they agreed to the terms set by the King he is struck with sudden inspiration. “Well,” Charles begins, “they seem to be in favour of the idea, but want to work out the details before they fully commit to the agreement.” Henry accepts Charles’ answer and seems untroubled that the deal is not already done. Taking his chance Charles asks, “Would you like me to continue the negotiations?” Henry agrees and, glad to have found an opportunity to make his move, the Duke goes to sit by the Queen. Taking the empty seat, he turns to explain that the King wants to work out a few details of the alliance when he realises that this is not the Queen he was talking to before but one of her fellow rulers. As he’s about to look for his Queen, the woman next to him turns around and catches his eye. Charles gasps at the beauty of the woman, all thoughts of the first Queen leaving his head- this is the one he wants to spend more time with. The Queen on the other side of him asks “Charles, what did the king want?” Turning to answer her, he is struck by the incredible beauty of this woman. Charles stops and looks around at all the Queens- “They are all so beautiful,” he thinks, “How am I supposed to choose between them?”	offwithherhead desi queen_elizabeth_1533 Izzy QueenMedusa
By hrm_elizabeth 2PM: Charles and the Queen continue down the hall toward the banquet. They can smell the food all of the way down the corridor. There is laughter and conversations that echo. Just before Charles and the Queen turn the corner, Charles finds a vacant corner and pulls the Queen towards him. She stops, puzzled by his behavior. "What is it, Charles?" Charles smiles and struggles for his words. The Queen smiles. "Charles, I am betrothed to another." Charles' smile dissolves. The Queen leans forward with a comforting smile. "Charles, I will promise you one thing. By the end of this day, your true love will be known to you. Now, come along. There is a feast awaiting us." Charles and the Queen enter the banquet hall. As the Queen sits amongst the other Queens, he can't help glancing at her. Suddenly, Compton and Knivert come behind him. The two notice Charles gazing at the Queen and laugh. Compton puts his hand on Charles' shoulder. "She's betrothed, Charles." Charles pushes the hand away. "I'm not really in the mood for a feast." Charles turns away and leaves the room. Suddenly, the king's younger sister, Princess Mary collides with Charles. Charles turns to her, and realizes that he needs to pay respect to her. Charles bows to her. She rolls her eyes and continues past him. Charles rises, leaves the room, and stops to think for a moment. "I wonder if anyone will ever make her happy." Charles doesn't give it another thought and continues on his way.	hrm_elizabeth MzCMarie

By hrm_elizabeth 3PM: Charles can't believe the beauty in the room! All of the Queens mesmerize him beyond words. Charles scans the room, and tries to sort through the busy room, but his attention gravitates toward one woman, who is standing on the other side of the room. Charles can barely see her, but he glides through a few people in the crowd. Suddenly, he seems more of her, but her back is to him. Her hair is the most beautiful shade of red he's ever seen, and it reminds him of someone he knows, but he's not sure who it may be. "I must meet her," he thinks. Charles tries to weave further into the crowd, slowly approaching his target. Knivert & Compton see Charles approaching the woman. They walk into Charles' path and stop him. "Who is it, Charles?" Compton asks. Charles smiles. Knivert tries to figure out who it may be, but can't seem to guess which one it may be. Knivert asks. Charles points towards the red headed one he saw from afar. "One day, she will be my wife," he says with delight. The guys look towards the woman. Knivert realizes who it is and his smile fades. "Charles, are you sure you want that one? After all, this room is full of beautiful women." Compton is curious. "Do you know who she is, Knivert?" Charles ignores them and walks on through the crowd. Knivert starts after him. "No, Charles." Compton pulls Knivert back and looks puzzled. Knivert whispers in Compton's ear and Compton is shocked. Charles continues towards the woman. Suddenly, he is there. Charles smiles, very confidently and bows to her. "Your Highness, welcome to court. It's a pleasure to have you here." The woman turns around and as Charles' eyes meet hers, he realizes it's the king's youngest sister, Princess Mary. "Thank you Charles for your well wishes." Charles, shocked, smiles, then rises and walks away.	desilee
By Izzy 3PM: After several minutes of Charles staring at one Queen then another, trying to decide which would be the best to pursue, the women notice that something is going on. “What’s the matter my dear Duke?” asks the first Queen. “Is something wrong?” chips in another. “Um…well…” stammers Charles. “Go on” encourages the Queen sitting opposite him as she reaches over to touch his arm, “you can tell us.” Overwhelmed by the beauty of these women the Duke of Suffolk finds himself blurting out the truth. “You’re all so beautiful,” he exclaims, “I can’t decide which of you I like best.” The women nod in understanding. “Don’t worry,” one of them begins soothingly, “you don’t have to choose,” Charles looks up in surprise, “we don’t mind sharing” continues another. “The problem will be how we manage to spend more time with one another,” says the first Queen. As the Queens put their heads together and start planning Charles sits staring in amazement. “Surely this is a dream,” he thinks to himself, “It can’t be possible to go from all that bad luck to this!” At that moment, Henry approaches, “Greetings my ladies, I trust you are enjoying the feast?” “Yes, your majesty” the Queens reply in perfect unison. “Your majesty,” one of them begins, “we are most pleased with your offer of an alliance” “All the negotiations are settled then,” the King asks glancing at Charles. “Yes,” another Queen continues “but it is custom in our land to have an official ceremony announcing such an alliance” “Oh…well…that might be difficult,” says Henry, “you see…I’m a bit busy… got a wedding to plan you know, but I’m sure the Duke of Suffolk could go in my place?” “Yes,” the Queens reply together, “that would be perfect”. Henry leaves, glad to know someone’s sorting that out for him, and the Queens start to plot what they can do this handsome Duke when he is brought to their land. All the while, the lovely Duke in question is still sat staring in amazement at his unexpected change of fortune.	offwithherhead
