 December 2009 | "The Tudors"'s Hans Matheson has big Christmas opening with "Sherlock Holmes"

 Hans Matheson should be enjoying a great holiday weekend as US box office numbers come in for the Christmas opening of "Sherlock Holmes."
According to <a class="external" href="http://www.businessweek.com/news/2009-12-26/warner-bros-s-sherlock-holmes-has-best-ever-christmas-debut.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">BusinessWeek</a>, "Sherlock Holmes," which also stars Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, and Mark Strong, brought in a record 24.9 million dollars on Christmas Day. Matheson stars as Lord Coward, an ally to Lord Blackwell, Holmes's enemy who has apparently risen from the dead.
Being one of the masses who recently watched "Sherlock Holmes," I was pleased to see Matheson back on the screen. I enjoyed his interpretation of Thomas Cranmer, and his portrayal of Lord Coward was likewise enjoyable.

| | Meyers Reveals He "Dislikes Filming Sex Scenes"

 Jonathan Rhys Meyers must have been suffering for the past three seasons of The Tudors! It seems he dislikes filming sex scenes because they have to apply make-up to his bottom.
I'm not making this up...
He elaborated to the German TV Channel Tele 5:
"It is embarrassing every time. You have to pretend that you're passionately making love and forget the whole world. But of course you're on set with about 20 people, a camera and a make-up woman conceals the pimples on your butt."
So the next time you see King Henry bedding one of his women know that poor Meyers rather be doing something else!

| | From Earl to Vampire: James Frain Joins TrueBlood

In the latest casting news James Frain, (Thomas Cromwell) will join season three of True Blood. James will be playing Franklin Mott, the new vampire love interest of Sookie's best friend, Tara.
 <a class="external" href="http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/12/14/true-blood-james-frain-is-franklin-mott/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">According to EW.Com</a>:
The casting breakdown for the role describes Franklin as a tall, dark, and handsome vampire who seems to have an “immediate and torrid” connection to Tara. In the books, Franklin is essentially Tara’s sugar daddy, but I’m guessing Alan Ball is taking the character in a different direction.
