I am descended from all members of both the royal houses of the Plantagenets and Tudors as a great granddaughter, great grandniece or cousin. Queen Elizabeth I (13th great grand aunt) is my last ruling ancestor of England. I am a direct descendant or related too several historical figures featured in this series (except for the fictional ones, of course). No, I do not live in England (everyone keeps asking me that). I am an American. My ancestors were the first to settle Jamestown and colonize Virginia. They were the landed gentry who descended from Europe's ancient royalty and nobility.
Why is Elizabeth my 13th great grand aunt? I am also a firm believer that Henry VIII fathered illegitimate children besides Henry Fitz-Roy (not simply because I directly descend from both Henry and Catherine Carey). Henry slept with numerous women in his lifetime, therefore, it is only logical to assume that he would have fathered some illegitimate children. His failing to acknowledge them legally does not mean he was not the biological father.
